I put up an iPod on cragslist. Bang, 30 minutes later, a guy calls and says he'll be right over with cash.

I thoughtlessly agree to meet him in front of my place.

Now, he sounded like a geek, so I don't expect trouble... but my Beretta M9 loaded with Federal hollowpoints is coming with me.

If I blade at 45, adrenalin dump, etc., I'll post back here.

Update: Geek cancelled by texting me (jerk). iPod is going up on EE.

Yeah, on some geek forum right now there's a guy who made a thread about almost buying an ipod off some dude on C'list, but changed his mind when the seller wanted him to come to his place and get it.

He probably was just worrying about saving his kidney and anal virginity.

Anytime I sell something on CL, A gun comes with me, and there is typically a long gun near by.

IF its portable, I'll meet them somewhere. Most of the time, car parts arent that portable, so guns get carried/stashed and my brother knows exactly why I make sure I pay close attention to EVERYTHING thats going on while someone strange is at my property.

I also, keep a somewhat heightened alert the next few days. Luckily nobody SUPER shady has shown up yet.

A camera will also be installed at some point to get pics of car/plates/person just in case.

What's wrong with texting? When I sold an iPod last month, it was all texting after the first email (craigslist).

I used my Google Voice number, the girl did something post-sale to the iPod to brick it, she didn't keep bothering me about it but if she did I could have blocked it. GV is awesome.

the gf gave away a scanner for free on craigslist, and this solid 8.5/10 foreign woman about our age came over to pick it up, and was so happy she wanted to repay us some how. I thought things were going to get real awesome for a bit but she ended up just bringing over cookies
