Last night the wife and I went to see ZZ Top in Richmond, VA.  We were 4 rows back and dead center stage.  I'm always amazed at the way some 3 piece bands seem to be able to generante as much "music" as entire orchestras.  I was not dissapointed.

Billy Gibbons quote of the night "There are two rules of the night, Rule #1, no drinking during the gospel songs... and Rule #2, no gospel songs".

Are you in NC?  I think they are joining up with Tom Petty in NC next week too.  That would have been a kick ass show.

Saw them in 2004. Hell of a show. Wife couldn't figure out where "the rest of the band" was hiding due to the sound.

Another funny Billy Gibbons quote of the night was "Four decades and the same 3 chords later..."

Weird, their site doesn't show the Tulsa date.  The BOK center's site shows them with TP on the 23rd. http://www.bokcenter.com/events.asp?id=11&pid=337&task=display

You know, it seems to me that I heard somewhere that their albums don't sound as good on CD.

Their videos were definitely spank material back in the day.

Been to dozens of concerts. ZZ Topp was by far the best.

Saw them at the OCK Zoo Amphitheaterthe night before I graduated HS in '97.

F'n awesome show. They had no fancy props, lights, or anything like that. Pretty ho hum stage. The three of them were all that was needed.

But, by God, they rocked!! I mean rocked. I cannot stress enough how much they rocked.  And you can sing along with pretty much any song.

In summation, they rocked.

I Live just a few hundred yards from the drummer, Frank Beard.
He is a gun guy from what I understand and I have seen him at a local gun store.

Sat at a table at a restaurant right next to Billy once. Dark outside , 8:00 pm. He was wearing shades.
