Paid $569 Plus tax new in the box.

Anything I should know about the M9? I've never shot one.

Nice, I really want one. Seems when I have the money, I can't find one. When I can find one, I don't have the money

Cool box. Nice pistol.
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:15:56 PM EDT
Nice pistols, good accuracy...reliable and cheap mags/parts.

A bit big in grip for my comfort, though

I love my 92FS I own. Smoothest shooting 9mm I've found so far.
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:22:49 PM EDT
Love my 92f . Always works. Plenty accurate. Easy shooting. Keep the extractor clean.
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:23:19 PM EDT
go ahead and do yourself a favor, buy a spare locking block. Nice shooter.

You gonna love it. Don't own any of these but have heard good things... Mec Gar 20s
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:26:20 PM EDT
Very Nice!

It's on my ever expanding list of gun to own.
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:26:59 PM EDT
you'll like it. They are plenty reliable and nice shooters. good job.
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:28:14 PM EDT
Mec-Gar makes the Beretta mags, IIRC.

I have a 92fs with factory Trigicon sights. It's a very nice shooter, if a little on the bulky side.

I only wish the plastic parts were metal.

I have the 92fs, love it.

I have officially won your thread...move along.

Cool gun, brah.

I've been wanting a Beretta for some time now. They just feel perfect in my hands.

Good, good, good weapon. I love me the 1911, but I grew up with the M9 as my primary side arm (with the M16A2 safely strapped down in the turret where it belonged).

As a torture test, I bought one cheap from a pawn shop. It was worn, flaking, and generally beat down. I did no maintenance other than clean and CLP for two years of regular carry/shooting as a civilian. When I moved on, I handed it over to a buddy with no real firearms experience. He tossed it into the center console of the truck he uses for contract work. Drags it out once or twice a week, puts about a hundred rounds through it and tosses it back into the landscaping truck.

That sucker runs like a Deere.

I love my 92FS and it's my main carry sidearm. Get a CTAC and go to town.

What's the difference between that and the regular 92FS? Why's it more expensive?

ETA: oh i see it has a different rear sight and says M9 on the slide, what else?
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 5:57:33 PM EDT

The M9 in my very humble opinion has a trigger pull like a Kevin Costner movie, and the slide mounted selector switch can easily mess up a slingshot reload.
But get used to those two things, and it is a fantastic weapon.

That is why you buy a "D" Hammer Spring.

Great pistol OP.

A different hammer spring can lessen the trigger pull a lot. I put a Wilson Combat one in my 92FS and it made a huge difference.

Yup, the grip is a tad to bulky, but it is a nice pistol.

Qualified "Expert" every time I used one on the range.
Link Posted: 9/14/2010 6:12:48 PM EDT
I've shot 10s of thousands of rounds through the M9 over the last 9 years in the Navy and shoot better with it than I do any of my own guns. I'm going to buy one on Thursday

They used to, once upon a time.

Current Beretta magazines are manufactured by MDS, which is actually under the Beretta Holding group.

ETA - Beretta Holding controls a significant number of firearms-related companies, and has interest in yet more. I know for sure that they own Benelli, Stoeger, Franchi, Uberti, Tikka, and Sako, either own or have controlling interest in Burris Optics, and IIRC, holds interest in Browning.

Meh. Not that great of a gun. Accurate and a good shooter but wouldn't want to take it to combat again.
