Great pistol. Change out the hammer spring to a lighter power for a sweeter pull, grease and shoot. Hogue grips are nice too.

1911.  But I love M9s too.  You don't have to choose.  You can have both.

A bit big in grip for my comfort, though

Yes......if I was a big handed dude, that would be mine.

Saw the Cabela's ad yesterday for a 25th. Anniversary M9 for about $560-570 and at the bottom it said something like "The closest a civilian can come to owning an actual M9 military pistol."

WTF do they mean by that other than you have to pay for it yourself? Civi version get MIM'd or plastic parts where forged shit should be or marketing BS?

I love my 92FS.

Someday I'd like to get a railed M9.

Paid $569 Plus tax new in the box.

Anything I should know about the M9? I've never shot one.

Pull the little hangy down thing to fire it, and make sure the end with the hole in it is pointed away from you.......  Otherwise you will the whole thing.

Nice.

I've been pleasantly surprised how accurate they can be.  One day I'll add one to the collection.

Might be NIB, but check to see it has the new locking block. The old style eventualy fails and then its a PITA to get the gun apart to replace the part

I love the look and feel of the M9.  It is probably my favorite pistol in that regard.  They are also very reliable.

I don't use mine much because of the usual complaints (no rail, no night sights, heavy trigger, relatively heavy and large).  I wish Beretta would fix these problems without changing the outstanding look and feel of the pistol.

Awesome!  They are great pistols.  Reliable and accurate + the grip is comfortable (to me).  Good buy.

You can get night sights put on it. Trijicon has somebody who does it.

What's the difference between that and the regular 92FS? Why's it more expensive?

ETA: oh i see it has a different rear sight and says M9 on the slide, what else?

No rail on the M9

My M9 has a rail-

M9A1

Your slide says 92fs.

M9 slides are stamped M9.
M9A1 slides are stamped 92FS.

*Sigh*

I really wish I would have taken photos of the comparison between my SIG and my Beretta (SIGs long since been sold). The only dimension in which the Beretta is appreciably larger is in length, which is due to the Beretta having a longer barrel than the SIG, and so that isn't really a proper comparison. (You can lose barrel length on the 92 with a Centurion model or the like.) While the Beretta is technically larger, the difference is a very small fraction of an inch.

Whenever the 92/M9 comes up, everyone always goes "OMG ITS HUGE", but when somebody asks about a P226 or other comparable full-size pistol, nobody bats an eye.

Congrats!

same here,

always missed expert by less than five rounds, all center mass shots

BUT I shoot my CZ 75B more often now

as to differences between the 92FS and the M9:
92fs has three dot sights––M9 has two white posts
92fs has dust cover that is slightly angled up––-M9 has straight dust cover
92fs' are built both in Italy and Accokeek Maryland––-M9s are only built at Accokeek Maryland
