Yes it is good stuff it is a single malt.  Is it 12, 15 or 18 year old?  I really like the 15. Pour in glass with ice....let sit for a few minutes... Swirl around and enjoy

Glenlivet is great stuff for single malt on a budget

I would advise against water though, water opens it up and makes it rather bitter.

Just wait until you work yourself into a bottle of balvenie doublewood you will be hooked!

This is Scotch whiskey; Glenlivet; single malt.  When
you die, you'll go to heaven. You say "Hello" to God, and when God says
"Hello" to you, this is what you'll smell on his breath.

It's just the regular 12 year I think. I know its not gonna be as good as the Blue Label I had that one time but I hope it is still enjoyable for 40 dollars.

It's good.

Putting ice in your Scotch usually means you don't like Scotch.

I like scotch over ice, slightly melted, or in a Godfather, which is where you add anywhere from a splash to 1/3 of amaretto, over ice.  Hell, you have the whole bottle.  Try it neat, try it over ice, try a godfather, try it with club soda, try a scotch and water.  Report back to us with your recommendation :)

You do not need single malt for that kind of stuff.

Any blended Scotch will do fine.

Reminds me of Jim Gaffigan.  His whole speech on people that like fish as long as it doesn't taste fishy.  "I don't think you really like fish!"

Its a good solid basic scotch.  A slash of cool water can help, I think most people find it hard to really find many flavors over 40% alcohol.

Glenlivet is pretty tame among the single malts. It's not particularly distinctive, but it's not offensive either.

No ice.

The Glenlivet distillery recommends a splash of spring water.
