What a bunch of queers, I love the post that he "wouldn't join the culture of violence" or perhaps the post by the guy who says
I couldn't live with myself if I knew I took another human life. Honestly, I'd rather be killed by a gun than kill with a gun (although, I'd rather have neither scenario occur). I don't understand how people can believe in God and guns at the same time? That's like believing in knowledge and illiteracy. The BEST one by far is this, I'm posting the best parts so you can see the kookiness that is a liberal's mind! Yes, There is a bad moon arising I am a Vietnam era veteran and served in the Infantry with most of my time spent in Germany. People, I had a nervous breakdown in January "94". I felt like Nazi Germany was being recreated around me. During the next two years I withdrew from society and devoured every history book I could find. In late "96" I ended up at a VA clinic with respiratory problems. Turned out, my head was what needed adjustment. People this militia nut streak is really old Klan, rightwing Nazi, Corporate run CIA propaganda and it has become the tool of the Republican Party. The phsycolgist I was visiting finally confided that he believed much the same things I did and that the facts of my life did indeed put me in a unique position to judge our political climate with respect to southern bigotry and fasist dogma. I spent so much time with Germans and interacting with many former(?) Nazis while in service and I live, work and coexist alongside the most venemous racist the world has ever seen. Rightwing bubbas. His conclusion was for me to stay away from politics. Wrong conclusion doc. My activism, as little as I am able to do, sustains me. MY conclusion on what sent me spiraling down was the use of CIA sponsored propaganda that it has been redirected toward Liberals and Democrats here at home. And I am glad I found DU and realized I am sane and bound by duty to uphold the Constitution of the United States and defend my home against the tyranny that the Elite have fosited on our country. When you realize the magitude of this disimination of disinformation and see the results on sites like the Free Republic, the cKouncil of cKounservative cKitizens, Rightwing Liberatrian site Enter Stage Right, you realize the gravity of what this poltical climate has done to posion civic life of the country. Good people, we must accept what has happened with a determination to stand in the breach. It is our rightwing neighbors you should fear and not the Armed forces. Local control is still in the hands of the Majority. Heed your civic duties but prepare to defend yourself from those who would usurp the law, militia style. It is "they" who will murder you for the communist/socialist/liberal "they" know you to be. Arm yourselves. The rightwing is tearing apart the social fabric that allows us to coexist. Let me end this diatribe by saying I commend and envy Will Pitt and so many others here for standing in the breach. |

What astounds me is that they apparently believe that THEY are the defenders of the constitution. How they're able to reconcile that concept with ever-increasing federal control of life in the U.S., legislation by activist liberal courts, and the creation of super empowered special interest groups is way beyond my comprehension. That thread is very representative of the pro vs. anti discussions I had in the Army. I'd say that the majority of folks I served with were anti-gun. Reading that thread was deja-vu all over again.
