The real question is why would someone put a box of doughnuts out and be surprised if folks actually ate them.

Man, I can't stand those thoughtless a-holes at work who think they can just use my Mr. Coffee I bring to work every day and leave in the break room. They have the gall to make coffee in it without asking!
There are social norms out there, if you can't pick up on even the most basic ones then you have bigger problems than people eating your donuts. |

I used to work in an office environment with 4 people. Every so often one of use would bring in breakfast for everyone else. EXCEPT this one stingy bitch who would walk in all the time with something only for her. She'd always apologize and offer an excuse––-didn't have my credit card and only had $2––-that sort of thing. Which isn't a problem in and of itself except she never had any problem eating the food everyone else brought.

Here's how it works for all of you fucking whiners and philistines:
Platter type foods left sitting on a surface in a common area (pizza, cookies, veggie tray, doughnuts, etc) : Free, or the guy that put em there is retarded and doesn't deserve them. don't be an idiot. if you don't want folks to eat it, don't leave it hanging around. we are wired from youth to see a tray/box/plate of food on a table and go "ooh, party!" Platter type foods left in a fridge without a note: Take at your own risk. Could be being saved for something important. Single serving food (bag of a mcdonalds#5) left in the open: Free after 5 hours. Single serving food left in fridge: Keep your fucking hands off of it. |
