Twitch was on hand at the Venice International Film Festival where The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner dropped word that he's up for the part in Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, adding that he'd star as Hansel with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace as Gretel! The odd-ball tale is to be directed by Tommy Wirkola, the man behind the Norwegian Kill Bill parody Kill Buljo, along with the horror comedy Dead Snow. The idea explores how things played out for the poor siblings 15 years after that whole gingerbread house incident. Simply put, they're now specialized bounty hunters looking to put down the cackling black-hat set.

I'd see it.

At least it sounds like an original premise.  Not another remake or warmed-over TV treatment.



If it doesn't have any Hollyweird flourishes, I'll see it.
