I visited the ship on my trip earlier today. Got lots of pics, but thought I'd share a small portion with everyone here. We went on the Fire Power tour, definately recommend it

i really want to take a tour of the New Jersey. a neighbor of mine growing up was a 40mm gunner on the Jersey during WWII. as a kid i would go over to his house all the time and he would tell me old sea stories from the war. unfortunately he died before i could get any of his stories on tape.

Read the article about the Olympia yesterday, made me sad and angry at the same time. I wonder if the New Jersey will ever share a similar fate.

I know the Misouri is in Hawaii, where is the Iowa and the Wisconsin?

Can google but brain hurts.

no. Camden NJ is across the Delaware from Philadelphia PA.

Yep, just a hop across the river. We took a wrong exit (Jersey signs suck ass) and ended up driving through Camden to get back on the road we needed. I definately do NOT recommend that little side trip. That place looked like the ass end of the world...

The Iowa is part of a reserve fleet in Suisun Bay, California

The Wisconson is a museum ship in Norfolk VA

Whiskey is in Norfolk. Iowa is still in mothballs.
