A guy I know asked me if I knew what it was, but I have no idea. It looks a little like a stock from some sort of Mauser, but there's a couple of things missing. Or maybe I'm mistaken. He thinks it's from the WWII era.

M1 Carbine?

ETA: @Znak: You could be right. In the OP's pics the stock looks a lot smaller.

M1 or M2 Carbine, maybe?

K98? It's a Bolt Action stock.

Looks like there is a cut out for a bolt handle.

I don't think it's an M14 because of the location of the sling loops and I know for a fact it's not an M1/2 Carbine as I own one of those. Some sort of bolt action is kind of what I was leaning towards.

No. This one has a bolt action. And it isn't even shaped right.

If you google Sporterized K98 you will find some.. people also do it to Mosins and ive even seen M1's... I dont see why they do it but it makes them look more like a sporting rifle.

Here is another one... Makes me gag a little.
You can see where they worked the stock to fill the bolt take down hole and the sling hole.

The stock slot for a sling gives it away.

Mauser that has been chopped.
