What is the proper way to mail a small amount of ammunition (100rds)? I want to use USPS priority mail, but do I need the ORM-D markings and if so what are the criteria for the label? I tried looking through the USPS pages and I found some stuff, but frankly I'm too tired right now to try and read and comprehend that mess. Anybody know?

No USPS - other common carrier

Doesn't ammo have to be transported by ground, or am I just imagining that?

I think it does need to be shipped by ground and you need to attach an ORM-D sticker. I don't think I've ever received ammo any other way.

Ammunition cannot be mailed. Also, there is no prohibition against shipping ammunition by air. It is just very expensive because of the weight. The CMP used to ship ammunition by air when they first started selling it, but went to ground shipping because of the cost. They still offer an air option for an extra charge.

OK, so it's a USPS problem, just like handguns. Thanks for clarifying this.
