Gonna go with one of the following:
 Aussie Shepherd
 Border Collie
or
 English Setter

One of the first two is probably more likely.

ETA: Just noticed you're in LA. Catahoula maybe??

They also come in several other color patterns...

Looks a lot like the half lab/half pitbull dog my friend has when it was a puppy. It's an awesome dog.

I have proof that he is not, photographic proof:

This neighbors kid lived through playing with the dog, and ARFCOM assures me this is not possible if he were a pit.

Well, I'm no Deej86, but I could have swore that you have popped up in various pitbull threads - siding with them (me too).

That and It does have a kind of part-pitbull look to it.

You might want to post the pics over in the "pets" section. People like "muschelig" (sp?) over on that side may have a better idea.

As for what the dog is, I don't know. The muzzle looks a little shorter than what my lab mix had. Also, the ears look different. Lastly, my lab mix seemed much leggier at four months.

If you were just dying to know, order a doggie DNA kit.

Great looking dog!
