I think if you were to tell the church elders, your wife could lose her job. Something doesn't seem right about a mail lady screening her routes mail and informing others about it. This. Mailcarrier observing and reporting on non-criminal suspect personal mail= some totalitarian shit right there. Bad juju. This + this. Besides it has great articles. ETA: Wow after 6 years my first ownage. I think I have to be alone for a while. |

Mind your own fucking business. +1 I was going to type out a big post lecturing about how wrong it is for a postal worker to invade someone's privacy and go behind his back to try to get him in trouble with his church but there really isn't a need. Mind your own fucking business and tell your wife to find another job if she can't. This country has enough problems without people having to worry about the mailman deciding to be the morality police and fuck with their lives. |
|
And this is the problem with this place. So many are worried about this mans personal business, they forget that the OP and wife are considering what amounts to blackmail. WTF guys. aren't we supposed to be the site in support of freedom and little government. Instead you propose someone rat this man out. Fuck that shit.

Your wife violated USPS regulations and likely federal law (39 USC 412) by disclosing customer information to you. And you come here to ask if you should let the customer (who's information she unlawfully disclosed) know she broke the law?
As if it bears repeating: MYOFB |

Congrtulations,
It takes a bigger man to know when something is the business of strangers discussing other peoples' mail on the internet, and when something is a private matter between an individual and God. It's too bad you weren't around in Jesus' day, you could have shown him how to give a whore a proper stoning. |

While I will not judge if it is possible to view such art without lustful thoughts - I highly suspect for a select few, it is entirely possible to fully admire God's most beautiful creations without sin. That said, it is potentially scandalous - perhaps he needs a more discrete method of delivery.
I am not one of the select few - I would not have the pureness of heart to view Playboy without it eventually leading to sin. |
|
I bet the post office has some kind of privacy policy that is supposed to prohibit carriers from snooping through your mail and telling others what you are receiving.

The Missus is a mail carrier and she tells me one of her customers is a pastor and gets Hugh's publication delivered to the door. Was it a practical joke or did the dude order it? Keep quiet or inform the church elders? If it was just a regular yahoo we would not give a flyin' rip... You know, I bet he works for profit on Sunday, too. Ignore the naysayers. Let the judging commence! |

I want to know if it is the brail version with 3D images of boobies that he can feal?
Seriously, your wife should be fired as it is nobodies business what comes in my mail, his mail, or anybodies mail! The day my mail lady decides I am a criminal because I get "Machine Gun magazines" is the day I have her ass fired! |
|
MYOB...and tell your wife to do the same....it ain't any of your business what anyone gets in the mail.
And if there aren't already then there should be rules for mail carriers talking about what people have delivered. |

How would you feel if one of your neighbors told your boss that you were receiving firearms parts or accessories in the mail? I'm going to go out on a limb and sat that you need to worry more about your own moral compass than his. |

The normal rules don't apply when you've appointed yourself the local eccliastical commisar and judger-in-chief. Remember, that was Jesus (a jew, speaking to jews) that said "he who is without sin, cast the first stone". Christians have different rules. |

Another vote for mind your own damn business. I can't believe you would even ask if it's right to violate the privacy of another man's mail and use that to jeopardize his job.
Now, I'm not Christian, but I'm pretty sure it says "all have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of god" in there somewhere. |

I'm going to disagree with most, I think you should tell the pastor..... to get a PO Box in another town where postal employees might respect his privacy.
|

Pastors are supposed to set an example. This doesn't set a good one.
Then again, neither does the OP's wife snooping into people's business. God has a way of taking care of issues He views as a problem. I wouldn't worry over much about that. And BTW, he should've went with Maxim instead I kid, I kid |

Your Church? Confront him in concern and love. Another Church in town? Depends on their faith and practice...sadly some churches wouldn't care-also keep in mind that if they do care, and he gets canned bc your wife spilled the beans it could theaten her job. If not your pastor- What I would (strongly) recommend is do what Samuel did with David (show his sin) YOU (not your wife ) should make an appointment with him for a 'counseling session regarding sin' (tell him or the secretary this phrase). When you get there, introduce yourself (first name only), sit down and he'll ask about your sin-tell him you are well aware of your own sin and strive to live a holy life (if indeed you do). You are here regarding the sin of a brother in Christ. And you need to know what you should do. He will then inquire what the issue is. tell him that you are aware a local church leader is involved in porn-unrepentantly, what does he advise you do to restore the brother? After he gives you counsel. read him this: 2Sa 12:1 And the LORD sent Nathan to David. He came to him and said to him, "There were two men in a certain city, the one rich and the other poor.
The rich man had very many flocks and herds, but the poor man had nothing but one little ewe lamb, which he had bought. And he brought it up, and it grew up with him and with his children. It used to eat of his morsel and drink from his cup and lie in his arms, and it was like a daughter to him. Now there came a traveler to the rich man, and he was unwilling to take one of his own flock or herd to prepare for the guest who had come to him, but he took the poor man's lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him." Then David's anger was greatly kindled against the man, and he said to Nathan, "As the LORD lives, the man who has done this deserves to die, and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity." Nathan said to David, "You are the man! Look up repeat "you are the man" then walk out... Give me a break! What kind of horseshit advice is this. Weclome to America, land of the free. What kind of witch hunt do you want to set in motion. The pastor tracks down the OP. OP's wife loses her job (justified by the way), Paper gets a hold of it and pastor is villified and cast out of the community. All over a nosy blabbermouth prig of a mailcarrier that can't understand basic American rights and has nothing better to do than to get up in everybody else's business. |

Must be nice to be concerned with such "severe" issues as a Pastor looking at tits. I couldn't even imagine having a life where that would even register on my radar of shit that I need to concern myself with.
|
|
Who gives a shit?
I'd say at least he isn't into some sicko shit like NAMBLA or whatever else sort of sick crap is out there. Looking at buxom blonde woman's titties and asses in perfect airbrushed profile in a monthly periodical subscription is good harmless fun. |
|
Where is the rule book that says pastors aren't allowed to look at nude women?
OP, if you spread his business all over, you and your wife will have guaranteed seats in hell. What kind of an asshole would even consider this?

Same as phone calls I inadvertently hear. Take it to the grave. |

Aren't those mailed with some sort of cover on them? I seem to remember my dad's arriving in blacked out plastic.
Regardless, you guys should mind your own business and your wife should probably not concern herself with what she puts in others' mailboxes. |

Im Catholic and I say MYOB. The wife unit will most likley lose her job and maybe even fines if she does say something...
|
|
If you wife is a mail carrier she has no God Damned business flapping her gums about what is in other people's mail. MYOB!

Thank you for the reminder of why I don't go to church any more.
Christianity wouldn't be so bad without all the christians. ETA: I'm not saying christians are the only hypocritical busybodies, jusat that those were the ones whoturned me off of church. |

You're assuming its for him and not someone else in his family, like an adult child who's overseas and can't have it fwd'd to their FOB.
MYOB |

Is a pastor allowed to marry? Can't keep them straight...
Anyway, MYOFB, seriously. Who are you, on your high horse, to say anything to the church? -V |

This is why I do not take my family to church. Churches are the furthest thing from Christs message.
You wan't to see satan and be manipulated go to church. |
