I haven't ever got to fire many full auto weapons, just brief familiarization with M-16 / M-60 at ROTC summer camp and 1 mag thru a CAR over 10 years ago. My brothers had never shot F/A at all. That was all remedied this month. I got the opportunity to borrow a few F/As and man, did we ever go through some ammo! I mean THOUSANDS of rounds! We had several great range days this month; the F/As, our pistols and rifles were put through their paces. We used a local agency's range and had a bunch of pepper poppers to work with. Yes, March was a good month! Thought I'd pass on some pics! Nice semi/full M-4 type. Sweet. 30 round mags are gone too, too fast! Interesting Beretta SMG. Open bolt but pretty accurate... Fun! Styer AUG semi/3rd burst. Very cool optics. Would take MUCH training to be proficient due to unusual manual of arms... Nice to have rifle caliber in a SMG sized package though. And (Drum-roll please!)the MP-5 in .40 cal, thank you very much! Sweet as one would expect? Nope. SWEETER! If I were a rich man... Here are SOME of our meager semi auto, but very black and very evil rifles along with a few others and a few of our sidearms tossed in. A few miscellaneous pics of the fun. (MPEG caps so sorry for the quality.) Simple test for fun: List the weapons on the table L to R, Top and Bottom. To the winner... Nothing, but what the hell?! ;)

Left to right: BM AR15 w/muzzle brake,AR15 Carbine (I'd have to hold to tell model #), BM AR15 W/muzzle brake, Remington 870 w/pistol grip, Rem 870 w/pistol grip, 3 AK's they look like Krebs' (I'd have to hold them), FN FAl maybe Imbel receiver, M1 carbine Left to right bottom: S&W 342PD, Glock 26/27, Colt Defender, Glock 26/27, Glock 19/23, SIG P228. Dont flame me for getting some of the rifles wrong, there are so many clones out there (AK's, FAL's & AR's) its nearly impossible to tell unless you hold them & inspect receiver.

By the way FiveO, I didnt know the AUG's came w/three round burst. I've shot the full auto one a lot. After A while we got so used to the trigger, we were able to play Bethoven's Fifth with it. TAAA-TAAA-TAAA-TAAA........TAAA-TAAA-TAAA-TAAA

Thanks for the comments Guys, we had a blast. I was on the range 3 times last month. Good fun and good training! To make it more miraculous, I should tell you that both of my brothers and I had pregnant wives at home. Yep, and we all 3 got to go shooting a bunch. Amazing, eh? We have this problem, when one of us gets something new, the other 2 want one as well so we have 3 of many types. Believe me, what you see is perhaps 1/3 of the total collection. Great job Mayday! Let's see, dead on on the ARs, the middle is a BM pre ban carbine (my pride and joy), good to go on the 870s, the one on the left is a Police Model and is my issue S-gun, the AKs are actually SAR-1s with Bulgarian stocks and Kobra sights, STG-58 FAL, and M-1 Carbine. The pistols are a S&W .38 Airweight Mod 642 I think, G-19, Colt Defender (Good eye!), G-23, G-23 and Sig P-229 .40 (My issue duty weapon). The two Glocks on the left have those damned Houge slip on grips (My bros like em, I do not.) and it makes them sit funny so that is an understandable call. Also the 229 and 228 are nearly identical. As far as the AUG goes, it is a US Customs gun. Apparently many AUGs are rigged for 3 rd burst out of the box but there is a scored plastic tab in the action you can break off to enable F/A fire. The SAC at my buddy's office wanted them to leave their AUGs at 3 rd... Go figure!? Thanks for the discussion!! Thanks again for the comments! I thought I'd "share with the group." :)

Yep Tracker, you are likely correct. None of us have had much time shooting steel... No incidents, though, luckily. We did wear "eyes and ears." Shooting steel is way fun. Very rewarding hearing that ping and seeing that popper drop! The PD is gonna buy some poppers that will take rifle rounds here shortly... That will be cool!
