Am I the ONLY one offended and dismayed by Hollywood's pathetic on-its-knees public blowjob to the blacks last night? Revolting is not a powerfull enough word for that sorry spectacle...Hally Berry praises all her black sisters from the past, AND HER MOM IS WHITE! Sidney Poitier gives a defiant speech about the travails of his people, and shows up WITH HIS WHITE WIFE! What's wrong with this picture...?or am I a bad person to notice the black man's thirst for White women...?

You need to keep in mind that the Oscars are Holywood's version of a circle jerk.  It's politics and behind the scenes crap, and very little to do with the merit of films and performances by actors and actresses.

I'll reserve judgement, as I have not seen either film that won best actor and best actress awards.

There is plenty wrong with the picture, but I have no interest in being banned for spelling it out...

And no, you are not a bad person, just obsolete in these "tolerant","diverse" times...

Interesting that you would choose the phrase "black man's thirst for White (sic) women" as opposed to "Thirst of some white women for black men".

I invite you to examine the Board Conduct Guidelines, specifically Rule #1.

Oh, gawd. Here we go again... only a matter of time before a certain Senior Staff'er shows up bitching about this and locking your account. Hope you have some more email accounts lined up, StormSurge (Lord knows I do! [}:D])

Personally, I liked Denzel's performance in Training Day.. I just hoped he got that award because of his performance alone... Unfortunently, two colored's in a row does seem suspicious.

"...black man's thirst for White women...?"

Notice how few people ever explicity try to disprove that remark... they prefer to to shout "RACIST" and let the lieftwingers rip ya' to shreds.

Actually, the whole 'black and white' thing was amusing, only because they kept cutting to Will Smith (who I think is a very good guy, and a talented actor.)

It was amusing to me because Will Smith was being used as the 'poster child' everytime they mentioned 'blacks in film.'  I guess it was because he starred in Ali?

I did find Hollywood's Standing Ovation to Woody Allen gut turning.  Excuse me people, but isn't this the same Woody Allen that couldn't keep his hands of his girlfriend's (Mia Farrow) adopted daughter?

A girl that was less than 1/3rd of his age?

Wasn't this the same guy that was accused of fondling his own daughter?  Even though he was cleared of the charge, he was not allowed unsupervised visits with the child?!?!

http://www.ishipress.com/soon-yi.htm

To top it all off, he delivered such a rambling, stupid speech, that anyone else would have been booed off the stage for delivering.

Yup the very same child molester is a HERO to Hollywood. And so is "Hit and Run" driver Halle Berry. And communist Whoopi Goldberg and every other piece of shit they decide to worship.

I like seeing what movies win, but the celebrities in charge of production just make me sick. I didn't last but a couple minutes.

Why are ya'll trying to keep a brother down?

Seriously, I saw training day, and denzel did a good job.  Should he have won the oscar?  I do not know.  Should Halle?  I do not know.  But, was there some serious kow-towing to the black man going on last night.  I don't think so.  Look who won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Documentary, Best Documentary Short Subject, Best Cinematographer, etc...  Plenty of awards to go around for us white folk.

Also, Robert Redford was honored right along side of Sidney Poitier.

Hell, Woody Allen made Whoopi look like a hack with his 5-minute stand-up routine.

I am not worried about any sort of racial bias in the oscars.  I look at it for what it is.  A way for the rich and powerful to pat each other on the back.  If you are outside the corporation, you get nothing.  Look at the coens, david lynch and sean penn.  Their movies were at least the equal of any of the movies nominated.  Lord of the rings gets nominated but not Mulhulland Drive?  What kind of crap is this?

Are the Oscar's complete bullshit.  Yep.  Is there a racial sub-plot?  Not this year.

Didn't see any of the movies, so can't offer an opinion on the acting.

Although the criticism seemed more generalized, the actual guilty parties were the members of the guild who have done all the voting over the years.

Whether it soaked in however, is a good question.

My personal opinion of Sidney Poitier is that he did open a lot of doors for African Americans in film.  But Halle Berry could fuck off.  First she keeps crying and hollering "Oh God" so much, my dick got hard thinking I was watching a porn.  Then I lost it when she started talking.  What the hell did she do for the industry other than flashing her tits in swordfish.  In this day and age she dealt with more barriers being a woman than being black.

I am no fan of Hollywood, but my limited knowledge of the subject tells me that winning an award is a matter of acting ability and timing.

I wonder if Denzel and Halle ever considered the possibility that blacks never won before not because of racism but because they never did a worthy enough job coupled with a slim year in film to win?

From what I hear, she really stunk it up good.  I am glad she did.  I hope the leftist elite enjoyed being called racists.  After all they always say that of others.

Ability is only part of it.

Sally Field let the cat out of the bag with her acceptance speech years ago,
"You like me, you really, really like me!"

It's a political/popularity contest.  The MOST important thing that's needed is... the right agent.

The right publicity agent will get you onto People Magazine's cover and onto their "Sexiest People" lists. How else do you explain George Clooney's meteoric rise to stardom - on talent?

The right agent cashing in enough chits for you will get you all the good press you could ever want and the best movie scripts saved for you.

The right agent will limit bad press when you have a hit-and-run, sex with minors, drug OD or when you are seen stashing the murder weapon for your puffy boyfriend.

It's all about connections. Talent is secondary.

There was an interview with Denzel from last night being shown today where a reporter asked Denzel "Do you ever see a day when the headline doesn't say 'Black actor wins Oscar'?".  Denzel said "Do you work for a newspaper?".  The reporter replied "Unfortunately.".  Denzel said "Then you be the first.  Here's your chance to bring this about" or words to that effect.  I thought that was pretty cool of Denzel.

Personally, I did not watch one minute of the Oscar show itself.  Like has been said, it is a bunch of weenie liberals patting each other on the back, but I did like what Denzel said in the interview.

I think it is hilarious that the PC media make a big deal out of fact that the best actor and actress awards went to some black folks.  If they were as "colorblind" as they profess to be, they would just report the names and the films they were in.  If it were me, I'd be kind of pissed that the papers were making such big deal over the fact that I was black.  Like it is so freaking amazing that a black person won.  Denzel is a darn good actor, period.  Halle Berry isn't bad, and she does have nice tits.
BTW I don't actually watch the Oscars, because I don't have the patience to sit through hours of crap to see 30 minutes worth of award show.

David Lynch, Mulholland Drive, nominated best director. Somehow I managed to sit through the whole movie - without drugs - and not fall in the aisle in hysterical laughter at the waste of celluloid.

As for all the racial rhetoric, I'm going to ignore it. Denzel should have won for his amazing performance and Halle, well, um, the best actress doesn't always win.

The media is the ones making a big deal about it. The quote from Denzel summed it up, the Best Actor won, not the best Black Actor.

They were the token blacks (not that I don't think Denzel should have won by now).  Hollyweird is so patently racist that they have to throw the niggers something every once in a while to feel like good liberals.

I didn't watch it and don't care much for who wins and who doesn't, but the fact that Denzel finally won after so many great performances (and not being an overtly political shithead) is pretty cool to me.

I mean seriously, they made such a big damn deal out of Poitier being honored and Halle was the "lady of the night" could it have been any more obvious that Hollyweird was beating the drum to show how kind they are to blacks?  I hate Hollyweird.  I hate the crap and bullshit opinions they peddle.
