Blockbuster has a corporate policy barring all concealed weapons. This includes LEOs. So do you think they will fire the guys kid? http://580wdbo.com/news/020319blockbuster3.html Surviving Blockbuster Robbery Suspect Charged With Murder Declaring him criminally responsible for the shooting death of his accomplice, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has charged the surviving suspect with murder in Monday night’s botched Blockbuster robbery. Sheriff’s investigators formally charged 18-year-old Darius Bennett with murder and being a principal to attempted armed robbery, serving him with the arrest papers in his hospital bed at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Bennett is recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest he sustained when the father of a Blockbuster employee opened fire on the suspects to foil their robbery attempt. The other suspect, 19-year-old James Wince, died from gunshots to the chest and neck. Both suspects are from Deltona. Both wearing masks, the suspects entered the Blockbuster Video Store on Enterprise Road in Orange City at about 11:45 p.m. Monday night. Witnesses said Wince was armed with a rifle and pointed it at one employee as well as another employee’s father, 50-year-old Robert Shockey. Shockey had arrived at the store to pick up his son and was armed with a .45-caliber handgun. Shockey, who has a concealed weapons permit from the state to carry the gun, fired first at Wince. When Wince fell to the ground and dropped his rifle, Shockey fired at Bennett as he made a move to pick up the rifle.

Their corporate policy holds no legal weight in Florida. If they fire the guy's kid, they also leave themselves open for a hell of a lawsuit, since the employee wasn't carrying the gun.

Damn straight!!! I hate that place. Overpriced. Would rather support a mom and pop video rental place than them. Unfortunately they have a strong presence here in the DFW area. Also don't like the idea of a vid store not having porn. What's up with that?!?!?
