Brendan Sexton III, who played "alphabet" kowaleski in BHD, is coming to speak on Somalia and US Intervention this friday. If you haven't aready heard what this idiot has to say, I refer you to the following: [url=http://www.counterpunch.org/sexton1.html]Brendan Sexton: What's wrong with Black Hawk Down[/url] I'm not sure I'd like to listen to his drivel for 40 minutes, and since I'm known as the resident conservative they'll know what's up when I show up. Nevertheless, I'd certainly like to take the chance to ask the asshole if he ever saw CNN and watched the bodies of Gordon, Schugart, and Cleveland dragged though the streets. He claims the Somalis weren't savages as the film makes them out to be. Is there anyplace where I can get photos of the actual event? And does anybody have any ideas as to what else I could ask? edit:lousy links are gonna to be the end of me

just tell that asshole he should move there for a year then report back and tell of his findings, I give him a week and he will be dead. just another hollywood blowhard my 2 cents on this idiot

Maybe he, Alec Baldwin, and Rosie O'Donut, would like to take a field trip to this misunderstood land. To bond with the Somali's, and experience the way of life there.

Ask him why anyone should care what a 22 year-old pretty-boy actor thinks about any subject other than which hair mousse works best?
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 7:45:28 AM EDT
That guy is a socialist jackass.
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 8:58:49 AM EDT
I hate it when actors are given some sort of deference and invited to speak about any topic, except maybe acting. They don't know jack-ola, but they have big mouths and are too willing to exploit their celebrity and share their "knowledge" with us, the mere non-acting peons who schlep to the box office and buy tickets to their movies. Case in point: Alec "Pinhead" Baldwin. Now this guy. If these morons kept their mouths shut and nobody gave a flying fig what they said to begin with, the world would be a better place.

What an ASS!! [pissed]

Looks like the pretty boy POS will do anything for a buck. This is total bull$hit, they were portrayed as a group of nut cases, with lots of guns, ruled by a warlord, high on drugs.
The film Black Hawk Down paints the Somali people as wild savages. Elvis Mitchell, who reviewed the film for the New York Times when it opened in December, wrote: "The lack of characterization converts the Somalis into a pack of snarling dark-skinned beasts--intended or not, it reeks of glumly staged racism.

The funny thing is that most people who saw the movie probably do not know which character he played, and those who read the book probably would have to go back and consult it to remember his character. Ask him why, if the movie is racist, did he allow his name to be attached to it if he does not support the message? Then follow up with is money and personal promotion more important to stopping the spread of racism? That ought to endear yourself to him. Kyle

I'm not expert on these things but I suspect that this boy got paid a respectable sum of money for being in the movie. Now this is a movie that he agrees contains "glumly staged racism." I'm just a poor humble boy from da Bronx but I think that makes him a hypocrite. Or a prostitute. I'll be the first to criticize my government if I think something is wrong with it (especially during those Clinton years [:D]). But to suggest that the US not use it's military capability in Afghanistan is patently absurd. And his position that stopping somebody from doing something is actually doing something is moronic. That argument advocates sitting and doing nothing as an appropriate response to people being murdered. Well, I suppose it's a response. It's just not one that I'm going to espouse. He's entitled to his opinion (ironically, something he wouldn't likely enjoy if he were in Afghanistan). But I don't understand what his "expertise" on the subject happens to be. If Alan Greenspan were going to talk to me about the economy, I'd listen. If Bill Parcells was talking about football, I'd put a fair amount of stock in it. But why does anybody care what an actor has to say about the use of US military?

"I may not be an army ranger, but I play one in the movies" [rolleyes]

Read the interview. He lays every problem in the world at the United States' doorstep. What a totally indoctrinated fellow traveller at such a young age. Silver spoon probably as well. Make sure to ask what qualifies him to speak on the subject (and if the school is taking a political position or do they plan on having a guest speaker with opposing views).
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 11:05:11 AM EDT
Not that i really want to know or anything but when they get tired of your questions and they're draggin you out by your boot heels ask the little punk what Alec Baldwins dick tastes like!
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 4:20:16 PM EDT
The best thing to do with this dipshit is to lock him in a closed room with the ranger he protrays in the movie. That'd be the end of that. Fuckin' Punk!
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 5:12:00 PM EDT
Let me see if I get this straight. This idiot PRETENDS to be someone in a movie who fought with courage. He goes to a school for a couple of weeks and then Pretends to be a full fledged distinguished fighting machine with a military background. He PLAYS a part in a movie and now he's got enough knowledge to supposedly be some authorative voice on the subject. Get real. Here is a piece of advice for him: Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your an idiot than to open it and let people know your an idiot. I'm getting sick and tired of of hollywoodcommies exploiting our brave dying honorable soldiers for their stupid ideals.

They can't. The ranger he portrayed took a RPG round to the chest. I think any of TFR's personnel would probably be more than happy to stand in for him though. Kyle

Muzlblast - as a former member of B Co, 3/75th Ranger Regiment in 1991, i completely agree with your sentiment........ unfortunately, Richard Kowalewski was KIA on 03 October, 1993, by an RPG round that penetrated his torso and remained there unexploded. ...and be eaten by them. [:D] Between O'Doughnuts & Buttwin, the Somali's'll eat well. Sexton might find himself playing the role of some warlord's butt-boy toy. [sex] But, I digress. Edited to add: why not attempt to contact one of the actual Ranger &/or Delta members [b]who were actually there on the ground, playing it out in real life[/b], & invite them to come join the "education/discussion". It'd be an interesting little "debate". Just how many know-it-all actors are there anyhow?
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 5:49:35 PM EDT
He is disgracing the name of the (now dead) man he pretended to be in the movie. His part was a total of 30 seconds long. As far as I'm concerned he can go to hell and take his tree hugging, sypmathetic, "they aren't really bad people" crap and shove it up his ass.
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 6:07:32 PM EDT
I love how this dipstick says that "it can't prepare you for actual combat, when the bullets go ripping past your head"..How the hell would he know???!!!

Geek4guns, Ask D**KHEAD what he did with his salary from the film that he had to "endure" "acting" in. Ask him to visit some VA hospitals and preach his crap there. He is just another a**hole who has no morals, ethics, conscience, values, or general idea of what the hell is going on. He is too busy looking for his "motivation".
Link Posted: 3/20/2002 10:59:05 PM EDT
I would get up in the middle of his speech and ask very loudly, "Why isn't the real Ranger Richard Kowalewski here to speak about Somalia? Oh that's right, he took an RPG to the chest and died over there. You are a pale, pathetic imitation of a real hero who gave his life for this nation. Why should any of us give a rat's ass what you think?" I would then turn around and walk out of the assembly.

That's an even better idea. Have that Ranger bust up on in there and make pansy boy look like an ass in front of all the kids. The only problem is finding one of the Rangers. Probably the best would be the pilot of the second Blackhawk who was captured and beaten within an inch of his life and shot while tied up.

Your approach has my vote! It'd probably also be a good idea to get some blown up pictures (posters) of the Americans being dragged through the streets by those who are "not savages".

Here's a muthaFCKR who's got all the answers:
Originally Quoted By A Hollywood Fag Named Brandan Sexton III: Had the U.S. given Somalia constructive aid--like money for agriculture and infrastructure, instead of military aid--the famine most likely never would have happened. U.S. intervention was supposedly to stop this famine, but the reality is completely different.

That's why I'm having second thoughts about this, now that the rage has gone away. I don't really want to waste 40 minutes of my time to attempt to enlighten this idiot as to exactly what he is. I've already played it out in my head. Me: "So, if you think the movie was such a racist piece of work, why did you agree to be in it? And take the pay? Are you some sort of hy-po-crite? Or a WHORE? Oh, and would you call these people savages? [Handing him BHD opened to the appropirate page]." BSIII(nice initials, by the way): "uhh, you're just a corporate tool. What do you know, huh? Those oppressed people are suffering...." Gloftoe's pissing on his shoes idea becomes better and better.... He's an idiot and will remain an idiot, and the only people there are the 10 liberal copies of him that will swallow his drivel anyway. [sigh]
