Hello - AR15.COM

Hey all,
I'm new here, but not new to firearms. Thought I'd introduce myself and say Hello to everyone. I've been shooting since I was 8 (1962) and a gun owner since 10 (Marlin bolt action .22 - still have it). I'm a Life Member of the NRA and proud of it!! I hunt, and camp as often as possible. Fishing is ok if someone has a boat (houseboat that is)!! Anyway - thought I'd just stroll in and say Hey!!

Geez, we sound like twins, except I was born in 1959. I too am an avid hunter and only lukewarm on fishing. I've shot since I was 5.

You are most welcome here and will learn much. Please share your knowledge too. You will be considered one of the old farts, like me, so don't mind the young'ns. They get a little impertinent, but mean no harm. Again, welcome!![beer]

Perhaps you can make the Black Rifle Convention and meet us face to face. [:)]

No problem with the young-uns (I was one once). I've been hanging out on a 4x4 board and there's a lot of "know-it-all" kids over there - but a wealth of knowedge on K5 Blazers, too. I kinda know when the bs is gettin' deep and when it's not. Hopefully I'll be able to expand my knowledge base (when I can remembeer it)!

It is a convention of those who shoot/love the AR15 ("evil black rifle"). It is being held on May 31, June 1, June 2, 2002. Here is a link that explains: [url]www.ar15-convention.com/[/url]

As you live within the "5000 mile mandatory attendance zone" you can register on the above site. [:D] We expect over 1000 registered and several times that in visitors. Please consider coming and bringing family, as it is very much a family event. There is a forum dedicated to it that answers more questions. There are rooms available, as well as camping. When you have only a few posts, what you are supposed to do is make some really inflammatory post, or a really stupid one that gives the impression that you've either incredibly naive, or an "anti" / law enforcement type trying to get us to say something incredibly stupid.

If I ever get the time, I will write a do-it-yourself guide to initiating a flame war against yourself.
