I have been wanting to get a 27.5” but I just can’t justify it being that this thing is still awesome to me.

My 26 inch giant hardtail from 200? is still my favorite bike. I’ve put larger slicker tires on it with some aero bars and it moves pretty fast.

my Santa Cruz Chameleon , 2006, is still on 26" x 2.25s, but im hoping to squeeze 2.4s

my Surly 1x1 is now on 27.5 x 2.8s, HUGE difference from its 26"s .. love it, 29s were run but 27.5 rocks

IF i get a new mountain bike someday, it'll be 27.5 probably plus sized

Covid fucked me raw ..26+ day hospital stay.
O2 rates good, muscle strength coming back...quads weak as shit.

I dusted off my specalized...
Mid 90s vintage with upgrades.( rack and bags are cuz I bought a trailer for it to do over nights)
I wanna get back in shape and stay there.
1st ride this AM round the hood. To test my legs and lungs outside of walking.

Hopefully I'll have pics of it on trails in a few weeks once my muscles and cardio get back in check.

One of the bikes I ride is a 1999 Trek 820. I don't go off road anymore so I put tires more suited to the local bike paths on it. I had Bontrager H2 slicks which were great for pavement but skittish on gravel, so I replaced them with Serfas Drifters. They have an inverted tread pattern that rolls like a slick on pavement but gives more bite on grass or gravel. They are 26x1.5" and I generally inflate to their max rated pressure, 65 PSI.

I tried to price out the same tires mine above had.
Tioga psycho TTs.... are now " vintage " tires...same with the Dart on the front lol.
Still like 70 to 90$ a pop.
Tread is good...so guess I'll keep em.

Been playing with some cheapo Facebook marketplace pickups

Gt saddleback.  $20 had to replace all the cables and rubbers.

Trek 830 $20. Was in pieces, guy bought it to restore and forgot how to put it back together. I like the aluminum frame

The two schwinns came with the gt and the kids ride them everywhere

Good bicycle tires are very expensive, but worth it.  Nothing else improves the ride of a given bike like good tires.

Alpine Designs MTBs

1998 Fly Ti XT
1997 Phat Cat XTR

I am mostly riding the Fly Ti right now. However, I have a Pivot Mach 4 SL Stealth Pro XT/XTR with carbon fiber wheels on order.
