The village and base was near forest/jungle. I didn't know at the time there weren't any orangutans in Vietnam, and he probably didn't know they weren't supposed to be any there either. He wasn't the sort to tell tall tales about his service, no navy seal green beret sniper - he drove convoy trucks. The guy may still be alive, didn't see an obituary listing for his name. |
