Just received and unboxed the big U-wing kit. Kind of a mediocre casting. This model will need LOTS of work to make it look the part.

It is 1/24 scale, just like the X and Y-wings. Overall length about 41”.

That's pretty big! Yeah looks like it's going to need a little TLC.

Always thought that was a cool craft. Looking forward to see what you do to it.

Does it have a cockpit?

Be cool if you could open up those windows replace them with some clear acetate if it had a decent cockpit, maybe put a light kit in it.

It has a full interior. 2 cockpit seats, and a bench seat for the cargo area. I will be opening up the windows, but I’m a little torn about making acetate windows.

The original studio models were built with them, but the were later removed because they caused odd reflections from the studio lights when filming.
My studio x-wing and y-wing replicas do not have them either, true to the originals. I may do the same with the U-wing.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that they had removed the acetate windows from the filming models.
