Is that the Alfa TA-183?
No free loading. I broke one of my cardinal rules and started work on a second model. When I was younger I’d sometimes have five or more going at once. When I got back into it about 10 years ago I made a “rule” that I would do only one at a time. I still need to finish the HE-162, so I won’t go any further on the Hasegawa 1/32 BF-109 till I finish the 162. My goal was to get the 109 black based before I headed back to sea for a couple weeks. There was a bit more filling and sanding on the 109 than I had planned on. I’m figuring the 109 will take me into the fall with summer hopefully coming. Attached File Attached File |

I scored a 1/48 Ch-53 GA for $40....
Will go good with my CH-53E that I am currently working on. |

Is that the Alfa TA-183? View Quote That's a Steve Neil's Design TA-183 Huckebine. It's 90mm EDF or for a small turbine like a Wren 44. I have the Original Molds and I'm in the process of pulling half a dozen fuselages for my friend Mikey at Performance EDF to sell as a kit. I should have the parts pulled for him in about 2 weeks from now. This is an Epoxy Fiberglass fuselage and tail sections with foam core wings covered in balsa. It has spring air retracts in it and mine is runs on 8s lipos. |

Some serious talent here.
I really enjoyed this thread. Permatagged. |

Here’s a couple pics of my latest RC addition. This is the Flightline Focke Wulf 190D from Motion RC. I repainted it using a mix of Tamiya Spray paints and a couple custom Tamiya bottle mixes. Markings came from Callie Graphics. Only one flight on it so far, but she flies nice and really scoots along with a 4 cell 2100mAh battery. I kept the flight to about 8 minutes. For the price ($129.00) I’m thinking of getting a couple more to paint up some other schemes. I think from start to finish I’ve got maybe an hour and a half of work into it.

Kitbashed from old Athearn "blue box" Bay Window Caboose and 50' Flat Car kits. This is a combined "shoving platform"
and "transfer caboose". The Bay Window body was chopped up and reassembled. The roof is from yet another kit, and shortened, glued back along one of the ribs. Toolbox from Shapeways, is a 1:50 truck toolbox. This is in HO scale, 1:87, but the decals are from a N-scale Microscale SP locomotive sheet. All paint was blended Vallejo Air acrylics, but for the Krylon Crystal Clear Flat used to hide and seal the decals, and to seal and protect the weathering. Attached File Attached File |

So between a miserably warm summer, and a ton of other projects, I finally finished my 1/48 Tamiya HE-162. Painted with MRP paints and Montex masks. We’ll see how she does at the 2019 Granite Con show in a couple weeks. I still need to finish that 109G pictured above. I think that’s going to turn into a side project that I pick away at. I need to figure out what’s the next main project.

Started this last year
Attached File Got this far, saw how incorrect it was and it sit for a few months Attached File Then finally bit the bullet and proceeded to correct it. This model of bussing nag truck with the military soft top cab was only in 2wd and had a non sloping hood. So the hood got flattened the molded in front drive axle removed and replaced with a regular drop axle. The much modded kit roof was used with a paper covering..much nicer. Attached File |

Video would becool..its way more technical than anything i could do, but interesting stuff for sure.
|
|
I haven't done a vid of one in action, I need to set up a tripod & get one from a fixed perspective (generally no one available to act as camera man while I run the remote). The vid below is from the first Rover 2.0 build after moving the camera to a mount on the top deck. I was on the back deck running from the view on the LCD. The course took the tank around a portion of the property, about 100 yards from my location at the farthest. I had a little DVR sitting between the receiver & the LCD that captured the run.
POV change - FPV ROVER2 operation beyond line of sight Not sure why no video frame, just link. |

That’s pretty neat. I would tear all over my yard with that and chase squirrels.

Here's a short clip of the FPV Rover 2.0 running on the lawn. This is the modified build using 4:1 gearing. Power level was capped at 55% potential max.

Latest build, a 1/72 Hasegawa Ki-84. This is an older tooling kit with raised panel lines and limited surface detail. I went mildly insane and sanded down each raised panel line and re-scribed it with a Tamiya engraving blade. I also tried my hand at riveting with the Dousek 0.4mm riveting pounce wheel. Surface was primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500.
Attached File Attached File Attached File The entire model was then sprayed with Tamiya XF-89 and each panel was lightened with a slightly lighter shade. Entire model was given a nice coat of Pledge Floor Care gloss. I then used AK masking putty to get the tight mottle pattern masked off. Total pain in the ass, but worth it. This Thread makes me sad. With my nerve damage in my right arm and the likelihood that it will never return to normal my model building days are pretty much over.
What really sucks is I have a closet full of kits to build as well as kits that were in various stages of completion when I got sick. |

Looks great, what kit? I was going thru an Aoshima lancia delta s4 a few days ago, but it doesn't look to be near as nice a kit as that one. View Quote I pretty much only build tamiyas. I tried a revel a few years back and the fit and finish just wasn’t the same. Also because I really only like building touring cars and tamiya is the only brand that makes them. Got the body painted, just have finishing touches and decals. Not my best work but I’ve drawn this model out long enough. Attached File |

Now that winter is back, I’ve been making progress on my 1/32 Hasegawa BF-109G.

Attached File RLM 74 applied and painted more markings. Attached File This where I’m at now. I was rushing and you can see a spot where the paint lifted on the side fuselage Balkenkreuz. Whoops. It’s an easy fix. I also think I need to thicken up the fuselage mottling. I’m always worried I’m going to over do it, but I think I have room to add more and add to what’s already there.
