But I can order at 6PM and they are on my porch the next afternoon. www.amazon.com/dp/B005G8917Y View Quote Meh, my wife ordered my walnut bitters through Amazon after I raved on the Capital Grille In Fashioned. |

I'll have to give those cherries a try. Luxardo cherries are literally $200 for the small jar on amazon here.
I made a mai tai riff last night. 2oz Whistlepig Piggyback rye 1oz Brown sugar Orgeat 1oz Lime Juice 1/2oz grapefruit juice 1/2oz lemon juice 2 dashes angostura bitters 2 dashes aztec chocolate bitters It came together beautifully and the chocolate bitters really tied it all together |

Love Mai Tais and Mai Tai riffs and this is probably my new favorite.
Swap Aperol in for the Campari if you lean a little more towards sweet than bitter. BITTER MAI TAI - an interesting twist on a classic tiki cocktail Also, wtf Australia? $100 for Smith and Cross? Poor bastards. |

My wife wanted to get the last few ounces of Godiva liqueur out of the fridge so I threw together an alcoholic "Chocolate Orange"
3 oz Godiva liqueur 3 oz tequila 1 oz Grand Marnier 2 dashes Orange Bitters Shaken in ice and strained Bit of a big drink, but the goal was to get rid of the Godiva. |

When I started my IG cocktail page I never posted the ingredients, which I later regretted when I'd try to remember wtf I did with a drink. Ingredients and portions are key.
It's fun to see some of the wild stuff people post. |

Anyone have a good recipe for an espresso martini? My wife had one over the weekend she really liked, going to try to perfect one.
I tried it using Sumatra coffee beans for the espresso, but I think the coffee flavor was a little too upfront. |

Not as fancy as some of y'all. But I just had my "OMG" Manhattan. I went to total wine yesterday ( I feel dirty. Fuck David Trone) because I had to drop my daughter off at a go kart track for a birthday party. It was my first time at one. HOLY SHIT, it's like Costco of booze. Anyway, I walked out with my ususal Wild Turkey 101 and a bunch of other stuff I normally can't find. SOOOO....I just made my usual Manhattan (my fave cocktail), but with.....
2 shots Wild Turkey 1 shot Carpano Antica Formula Scrappy's chocolate bitters. No cherry....I'm doing Keto. OMG, the Carpano and chocolate bitters make the biggest difference. Unbelieveable. |

Quoted: Great Thread suggestion I like my Old Fashioned Cocktail's on the Sweeter side. If it's too sweet for you, cut back on the simple syrup, but if using a spicy Rye (Bulleit Single Barrel), then it balances well. Old Fashioned 2 oz. Bourbon 1 oz. Simple Syrup 1 tsp. water 3 Dashes Angostura Bitters Large Rock Express orange Peel over Rock and around rim (place in glass) Add Maraschino Cherry of your choice Buffalo Bowtie 1.5 oz Buffalo Trace Bourbon 1 oz White Peach Syrup Pour over ice and top with Ginger Ale Garnish with Lime or Orange Whiskey Sour 4 oz Sweet and Sour Mix (I use Agalima Organic) 1.5 oz whiskey (I use bourbons) 1.5 oz Amaretto (I use Luxardo) Fill shaker with 1/2 Cup of ice along with above ingredients, shake well and strain into rock glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry Note* - These Whiskey sours go back way to easy, and I don't like having to get back up again and again, so I automatically double the recipe and use a frozen 16oz beer mug out of my freezer for my glass View Quote How dare you use a sweet and sour mix….?? Use an egg white , simple syrup and fresh squeezed lemon, dry shake with your preferred bourbon. |

Nice! Now, here's a question; what are some go-to/gotta have bitters? I've always loved bitters and I always like a hefty dose in my Manhattans. I like Angostura, Scrappy's Chocolate, and Fee Bros Orange. I have some Peychaud but barely ever use it. Any other recommendations?
|
|
Bitter Truth's Bogart's Bitters are probably my favorite. Such a big flavor, use in place of Angostura.
I use orange and lemon bitters a lot. Lemon for martinis. Chocolate is good for mezcal old fashioneds. I just ordered some lime bitters so that should be fun. Peychaud's I use all the time because I love a good Sazerac or Vieux Carre. |

Really digging a couple bitters made by the Jeptha Creed distillery. Walnut and Strawberry Ginger. Use walnut in place of Angostura and the Strawberry Ginger is great in a lot of gin cocktails.
