Testing my old fashion recipe vs their pre-made offering. The HW double rye is a Syrah finish so I just used less sugar and an extra dash of bitters to balance it out

I keep Jack Honey on hand, so the wife doesn't use any of the good stuff when a baking recipe calls for bourbon. But I've been using it instead of sugar or simple syrup in my cocktails lately.

Hard to compare really. If you’re a fan of 120+ proof it’s amazing. It tames out quite nicely over ice if that’s your jam too. It’s definitely one of my favorites in the 125-135 proof range. I think the single barrel is just ok, not worth the hype when compared to small batch. I’ve also had the 4 grain offering and the barrel proof beats that one as well.

The batch number that I have is batch 9 and I have only had this one. I wish I could find the others but they seem to be going for way more than I’m willing to pay just to try them out.

That being said, I would gladly pay the 450+ dollar secondary for this one once this bottle runs out. It’s just that good IMO

This is #1 on my list of must haves. Had it at a local restaurant and had to ask if they poured me BP or SiB. I couldn’t believe how mellow it was.

Hit 12 distilleries last week on the trail. Learned a lot. I was able to snag a few hard to find things like blood oath and Lux row 12, as well as other ky/distillery exclusives. I love the EW 12 year. They had a few bottles of the square 6 but I wasn’t a fan.

Against my better judgement Hennessy VSOP Privilege. I have never had another Cognac so I figured I would give it a try. It's a very smooth drink with a very wine-ish nose to it but the flavor is seriously lacking.

Tell me more about the emblem on the glass!

Freemasonry has several organizations, called Bodies, you can join after you become a Master Mason. Most have a statewide governing level known as the Grand Whateverthenameoftheorganizationis.  I was the head of one called the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Wisconsin.  I had toasting cannons made that I gave as gifts.

Very cool. Were our emblems not hidden I would have the S&C displayed. I had never seen the symbols displayed on the glass. Thanks for the explanation.
