Very Olde St. Nick 12yr Ancient Cask.

An old friend is back in town.  He remembered this from his last visit.  Doesn't do any good sitting on the shelf, so I suppose we'll put a dent in my last bottle of this stuff.

Finally opened up my quarantine 1.75 of Costco larceny I purchased back in March with some buddies this weekend. I have maybe an 1/8th of it remaining if that says anything. What a smooth drinker and great mixer. Made over 20 old fashioneds sat night. If anyone is looking for a bargain crowd pleaser I’d advise getting one! Now if only 4R would make a 1.75 SBS

so Total Wine has been selling this Bulgarian vodka called Polar Night. It apparently got some sort of copyright name infringement or some such bullshit, so Total Wine have been liquidating it since they bought a shit ton of it. $45 a case and it's pretty good vodka. Anyway, had a Moscow Mule with it and Maine Root ginger beer.

Now, Whistlepig Piggyback 6yo 100% rye.

Finished off a bottle of EH Taylor small batch, only about a half ounce left.

Then had a bit of Weller 12 and finished up with some Weller 107.

Not sure which is the best, they were all good though.

The EHT Small Batch is easy to get over here.  If you're close by I can give you coordinates to my honeyhole...sharing of said coordinates is punishable by terrible things.

It is easy to find here also but a lot of places have it over priced. I usually hold out until I see a good deal on it ($39 or so) and buy several.

Last night we had Russell's Reserve Single barrel Rye.

110 proof and a true rye bourbon.  Starts off with oak/wood, some sugar, then alcohol heat, good rye spice on the backend.  Make sure you like a rye before you buy.  It makes 4Roses Single barrel and Blantons seem like wheated bourbon.

Watch yourself on it.  It's smooth, even at 110proof, made my poker night interesting.

A new one for me.  My local guy suggested that I try it.  Wilderness Trail Rye.  Nice nose and spicy on the palate, with a typical hot rye finish especially with the Proof.  I liked it.
