Sweet smelling, even maple-y with tobacco underneath. After the ethanol had evaporated it was just super pleasant. Nice oily mouthfeel. Not too harsh finish.

I'm following that with their Christmas Bomb, a 13% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with spices and aged in American whiskey barrels. These are good!

Poured my last bit of my local store’s hand picked barrel. The best Eagle Rare bottle I’ve tasted. Hate to see this go as I haven’t had anymore Eagle Rare as good. 3 bottles since. Too much variability from bottle to bottle it seems.

Russell’s reserve 10 year. It was on sale. Something like $24.

Slight sweetness on the nose. Thin body but leaves a residue on the roof of my mouth. I was caught off guard by the alcohol burn even after letting it sit. Strong oak flavor fading into leather really came out with some water. Not my fave. I’ve read that oxidation will change it for the better.
