So far.

I'll be diving in Cozumel for the next week so that will be the better test.

Impulse buy #1 has arrived and I like it.

It’s 44mm but wears like a 42 - I shit you not.

It’s got curves.

My daughter got her first watch today. She’s 2.5 and it’s her Christmas Eve present.

D'aw

I got my oldest (7) a watch a couple years ago. He still wears it every day. I put his info and my name and phone number on the back of the strap just in case something happens.

Apparently my wonderful wife is hell bent on me having a "modern" watch (in her speak, thats not a mechanical watch).  Since I refuse to wear the Apple Watch she got me for Christmas before, this behemoth was under the tree this morning, with my name on it.  Garmin Tactix Charlie.  I've never had a watch over 42mm before, this is 51mm, it feels huge, but it's amazingly light.

I am standing on my West deck overlooking a portion of my estate, with a 1990 7002-7009 Seiko diver on my wrist.  Feeling lucky.  Why?  It is an unpopular model with movement and Lume inferior to  both its predecessor and successor.  Probably not worth the 150$ it cost st the PX back then, let alone adding in the 110$ service it had about ten years ago.

Kids from out of town are here, and my youngest who is still in school.  No drama.  No issues.  No acute health problems in the immediate family.

I had lost my 6309 I had for four years in Ranger Bn.  It was my first Christmas with the wife, and the cost was a huge expense at the time when she bought it for me.  Like two weeks of our grocery budget kind of money.

So, I feel pretty lucky to not be broke, to have a good family here for Christmas, still married to the same woman, etc.

New Ball showed up today. Still deciding on it, because it was rather expensive, but Im impressed so far. I wanted unbeatable night lume, and tritium is the way to go. I have some watches with great lume, but fading is a fact of life, and I dont want to charge the watch and fuck up my night vision in the cockpit.

Glad you’re active in here.

Want full feedback - can’t stand the clasp on the crown but there are some engineer models I’ve been eyeballing.

Still flying whirly birds?
