I've used Wahls for years, just got a new set and noticed the same thing.

I bought a older model Wahl at the flea market w all of the attach for $5 in a nice carry bag..
I will admit to slight balding/thinning hair on top but even on the thick hair on the sides I have never bogged it down..

I have been using it every 2 weeks for several years now and never oiled it...Works great

Cant believe I paid $20 for haircuts for so many years

It is difficult to get some parts of your head cut down.

Maybe the blades just didn't get sharpened/manufactured at the factory correctly.  Everyone makes a lemon from time to time.

There are others that will work too, but this is a great suggestion. The reason your clippers suck is because the blade speed is too low. Professional clippers like Oster cut a lot faster than consumer lever stuff. Price might even be less.

100% AGREE!

Bought mmine with 00000, 0000, 0A, 1, 1A and 2 blade and never looked back last year.  With a case and blade holder I spent just under $300.  Considering I was paying about $450 for haircuts  year, plus my time waiting, the price was worth it.

A dab of oil into the side port and it runs perfectly and its used very two weeks.

Plus the blades are METAL, not plastic.  They come sharp and stay sharp.  A little cool lube on the each time and brush them clean and they are still going strong.

Consumer models are designed for consumers- with lower speed and quality parts.

Check to see if the blades are aligned. When my 18 year old wahl starts missing sections or little strips. I just need to align the blades, and it fixes everything. The whole losing power thing I'm not sure on. I've always used a corded whal.
