Wore tightys  my whole life, but I've recently started to chaff at work.
Got some boxers to try.
Hopefully, they won't be worse.

FPNI

I wear compression shorts because otherwise my legs will chafe like a motherfucker. Only downside is that they're usually pretty expensive.

I go boxer briefs.  They don't look dorky like briefs, but they give more support than boxers.

Used to love the fuck outta em in the Army. But REI's boxer briefs are better. ADIDAS as posted above are a great less expensive option.

Years ago I tried boxer briefs and couldn't find any that were comfortable.  Tried boxers and found that my parts would invariably fall into one of the legs and then I'd get a free castration when I stood up.

Briefs for me.  When hiking, I wear nylon ones that don't get sweat soaked.

Boxer briefs.  I bought a couple pairs after walking around the mall in Washington D.C. on a hot August day and getting chafed.  I switched to them exclusively after the worst chafing in my life happened while wearing tighty whiteys on my bicycle.

Also, if I know i'm going to be walking a lot, especially if its hot and humid, I use Arm & Hammer stick deodorant on the areas that tend to get chafed.  Sometimes I follow this up with talc based baby powder (NOT cornstarch.)  Works like a charm to prevent chafing.

Under Armour is my preferred brand for the last 20+ years with me having a couple pair that are that old.

I have tried most every other major brand, REI, Duluth Trading, ExOfficio, Terramar, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple and I prefer the UA ones.

Most of the others are quality garments but I just prefer the UA ones for fit, performance, longevity, etc.

UA has several styles and several materials now to fit whatever you like.
