It's from a typo of the word "going".  See previous page.

Some people use it to mean goof off / fuck off in all of the various ways those phases can be used.

It all depends on context.

OK thanks!!  That clears up a lot for me.  I heard that term used by a range worker when I shot a 2nd round into the exact same spot on the target one afternoon.

.

Might want to add 13er to the 1st post list.  Any ARFCOM member who has a join date between Dec 2012 and end of 2013.  Why we include Dec 2012 is beyond my comprehension.

How about FPNI?I see it mostly in GD, but I've seen it in tech too, I think.

First Post Nailed It.
When the first person to respond to a thread says exactly what everyone is thinking, and usually in a witty yet succinct way.

<------- Hmmmmm....It is because of all the people that immediately joined after Sandy Hook. As soon as there was talk of a ban, the parts and ammo started getting scarce and when you googled anything AR, arfcom came up first. So there was an incredible influx of 13'er like newbies in Dec. of 12

Is there a version of this somewhere that's divided into two parts? One part being actual AR related and the other being all the excess that has nothing to do with firearms? If not, could there be?

Possibly:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=smh

Acronym for 'shake my head' or 'shaking my head.' Usually used when someone finds something so stupid, no words can do it justice. Sometimes it's modified to 'smfh' or 'smmfh' by those that prefer profanity in their internet acronyms.

FPNI - First Post Nailed It - Used when the first response to the original post was the best or most correct answer (in the opinion of the person posting FPNI at least).

Has also been used when someone's very first post on the site is ridiculous, with 'nailed it' as a sarcastic comment.

Welp = intentional misspelling for the word well, as in, “Welp, I got a vasectomy today.”

CHF  = Cold Hammer Forging.

Was just poking around on PSA's site looking at random complete uppers, took me a while to find out what that meant.

BTW (By the way)  great thread.
