Testing, 123, testing.

Here are the four ways the image will look when uploaded with different methods. Two ways link the image, one doesn't render, but one way works.

Linking the URL ("share" link): https://imgur.com/a/gGIpaUi
Embedding the URL ("share" link):
Linking the image itself: https://i.imgur.com/V31OWY4.jpg
Embedding the image itself:

Upload your image as hidden, you can still share it via link. Once it it uploaded, go to the post, and rather than click on the "share" icon, click on the image itself (i'm using my phone so i have to hold down on the image). Now click on the "copy link" option, not the "copy post link" option. This link is different from the copy post link, which is the link you would get if you click on the "share" icon. This link is what you need to have in order to upload an image.

Click "copy link"
Do not click share and copy link, do not copy the post link, do not copy the URL link, these do not work.

This post was edited probably 20 times, as I had to do trial and error. I feel so bad if this caused like a billion different notifications to people subscribed to this thread. Hopefully this helps others out, though, as I learned a lot just now!

Is there a minimum post count for pictures to embed? They show up properly in the preview but then show only as links once posted:
