Here's how you a light fire under the ass of film that's been slow going in development.

You cast Brad Pitt.

The actor, who was initially slated to produce an adaptation of Max Brooks'
World War Z, is now attached in a leading role. Brooks received the news himself while conducting an interview with MTV.

Pitt's production company Plan B first secured the rights to World War Z back in 2007.

Brooks says that the studio is targeting a summer 2012 release for the film, about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies. Brooks - the son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft - wrote a detailed tale in which a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from countries all over the world, 10 years after the crisis, to gather a first-person post-mortem on a war that obliterated every country on the map.

The original screenplay was written by J. Michael Straczynski, but was later rewritten by Matthew Michael Carnahan.

Can't wait.

But... his company had rights to it in '07. How is casting him going to do anything?

So if they cast him as the author of the report.......... it will have an air of Interview with the Vampire........... could be really good.

Best Brad Pitt movie was "12 Monkeys" (with Bruce Willis). Pitt would be good as the narrator or as a number of the other characters in the plot line.

Please let this be true...... I've read the book several times, also enjoyed the fan fic it's spawned over the last few years. Clostest thing to it is Kirkmans Walking Dead. Which as most of you know will be on A&E this fall.

hope this is true, and I hope they dont turn this into to some awful b movie abomination.

Ive read the book a couple times and I listened to the audio book on a road trip last year. If you havnt listened to the audio book I would highly recomend it, very well done and a great cast of voices for the diffrent charectors..... Allen Alda plays one of the generals speaking about the reconstruction.

Wait, Mel Brooks tagged Anne Bancroft?!?

They better get started pretty quick if it's supposed to be out in 2012...

I confused WWZ with Armageddon Day by Day at first and was getting really excited. But this would also be awesome.

well dang it. I was looking forward to this. However, with anti American actor brad shit, er, pitt involved, I'll just skip it.

I hate to sound rude, but it's about damn time. This movie was "supposed" to be out this year. Let's hope for no other set backs!

I'm not real fond of Pitt either, but every turd can polish-up once in a while. I don't really like Johnny Depp either, but I liked Pirates of the Caribbean.
