Regardless of whether they have any actual effect, they are a visible show of support. And they provide an opportunity for the new administration to make good on its 2A promises.

I've been working to promote 2a advocacy programs and what I found is you really have to focus your efforts.  If you ask for help in everything or treat everything like it's the end of the world, people will ignore it and treat it as spam mail.  Would be nice to defeat/promote the white house petitions, but I think talking to senators and representatives is a higher priority.
