You characters remind me vaguely of another scifi author I like, Vaughn Heppne, in his "Lost Starship" series. Both of you are 2 of my newer favorite scifi authors. Reading your Amazon bio, its funny how you got into scifi as I did with reading Robert Heinlein's book's. I never thought about picking up a scifi book until I was bored one day and over a neighbors and saw a book and ask if I could read it. Luckily he had almost all of his works and I was forever hooked. I wish I could write because I have several good story outlines but alas I'm an engineer and math is my forte and not English. |

There are some good engineer SF writers out there, like Travis Taylor. You should just sit down one day and write whether you think it reads well or not, just to see what comes of it. |

I'm on here, but from my post count you can tell I am just one of those damn lurkers.
The articles for gun magazines pay the bills, but I've got a few books for sale on Amazon, and the latest thriller WHORL is here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/153972378X?tag=vglnk-c102-20 Available in trade paperback, Kindle, and Nook (although from the sales numbers apparently Nook is going the way of the .40 S&W) there's actually a review of the novel at the bottom of the front page of theoutdoorwire.com today. |

I'm mostly a hack sportswriter (Boxing and MMA), but I write for RECOIL, Breach Bang Clear, OffGrid, Ammoland, Tactical World, World of Firepower, Off the Grid News, Legendary Arms (formerly Inside Military Surplus) Wild West and IMFDB (the newsletter).
I used to write for Gun Digest, Blade, SWAT, US Concealed Carry and Gunslingers of the Old West (they went under last year). I ghostwrite alot of blogs for peeps in the industry and have written a lot of web copy, press releases and product descriptions for manufacturers. I have several books and screenplays in various states of completion, but the magazine writing bumps those to the back burner. In that vein I do have one completed screenplay out there, but doubt it will ever be made into a movie at this point in time. |

I published another book this month, the sequel to Recon, called Recon: A Wolf in the Fold. Already working on the third in the series.

A few years ago I got bored one winter and just for my own amusement I wrote a book.
It started out as a short story and sort of grew. A friend read it and suggested I publish it on Amazon. I wanted to offer it free but couldn't figure out how. It actually sold a very few copies, so I can claim to be a "published author". I missed a good bit of school when I was a kid so my punctuation and sentence structure is horrible. With that disclaimer, here it is: "The Ferryman". https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005NK4R7E?tag=vglnk-c102-20 |
|
^ Basically how I got my start too. I had been reading just a ton of crap books, so I kind of wrote my own which was just a short story start at the time, told my buddy, he read it and said, write more.
I enjoy the heck out of it quite honestly. |

I'm not published, but I'm working on it. Here's a link to my Facebook author page. I'm currently writing a post apocalyptic novel.

It's being released one month earlier that I thought. Originally the designer used a cartridge in flight for the cover and for the bullet points in the text. She was open to my suggestion to use a minie ball instead.

BTW, I have the third book in the Recon series, Recon: A Battle for the Gods, out now and the fourth and final one should be out by September. Also, I sold the audio rights for the first three Recon books to a publisher so the first three at least will be available as audio books in a couple months.

I've done some zombie fiction.
Old School is posted over on the Zombie Squad site and in the archives on this site back from 2012. Another tale I'm working on is Doing Time, also posted over on Zombie Squad, that seems to have taken on a life of it's own. Not letting me put in the links. Some day I may put them up on Amazon. |
