i'm looking for anther good book. i have found good books here before so i'm trying again.
i really loved "patriots" and all 3 of the enemies books by Matthew Bracken. i also really liked "lights out"
all of them i found on ar15.com
i'm thing about picking up "one second after"
who has read it?
was it any good?
was there plenty of action and gun porn in written form? :)

One second after is the book that caused me to become serious about being more prepared. It is a very good book that you will thoroughly enjoy based upon the other books you've listed. It is much better than patriots, IMHO, as it doesn't contain the same amount of armchair commando mall ninja shit. It is pretty easy to visualize the scenarios in one second after........get it, you won't be disappointed!

if you don't prep.....it will scare the crap outta you.....if you do prep.....you will be more vigilant about doing so.

Good read....it'll make you think.....made the mrs cry in a couple places.

This in my mind is a true SHTF...Patroits was nothing compared to this...Way better read and will scare you into prepping is you dont already...

I'm reading it right now. About 2/3 of the way through it right now and I would recommend it to anyone who's interested.

decent book, fairly well written, but factually inaccurate regarding the true effects of an emp.

Read it but be warned it will scare the carp out of you.

It is definitely worth a read. It is much different than Patriots. Patriots really highlights a group of people who planned and were prepared for a SHTF scenario. One Second After is the complete opposite, it deals with a group of people caught totally unprepared to deal with such a scenario. It is pretty interesting to read both and compare what happens.

Sat down and read this book today, Excellent book, with a premise that's very real, not people getting some strange diesease or a wayward comet hitting the earth. This one will make you think, especially since our "leaders" have left us wide open to something like this.

Finished it a couple days ago.

Holy shit is all I have to say.

Did anyone else notice any similarities between the John Matherson character in 'One Second After' and the Jack Ryan character in the Tom Clancy books?

While I was reading one second after I would take frequent breaks and check on my preps. Look at my guns. And think hard about what else I need. when I finished it I passed it on to my cousin who was a non prepper. He is now a prepper.

really good book and one that made me fear an EMP more then a Nuke. I wish there was more out there on the market to read like this but most are not that great.
