So back to acoustics, here is my Ibanez. I’ve had a few acoustics over the years but have really come to love these Ibanez acoustics. Here is my 6 string acoustic.

I’ll squeeze in a couple of my amps too. I have four, one of which is a shitty Line 6 that got me back in the game after not playing for several years so I’m not gonna post it.

My absolute favorite of them is my Marshall JVM 210H with a 1960A cab. My local shop had it since it was new for several years. I watched the price slowly drop over time but the clincher for me was after the shop changed hands I walked in one day and it was marked $1k for the head and cab. I jumped on it immediately.

The other is a Marshall DSL5 that I used to use all the time. Since the JVM came home I only use it as a travel amp since I can attenuate the JVM down to an “acceptable” level and still retain a good tone.

Last is my Twin Reverb reissue. I’ve had it for several years but man it is just so damn loud! I’ll run some pedals through it usually so I can get what I’m looking for but for a crystal clear sound without distortion you just can’t beat it I don’t think.

And that’s it for amps! I have some pedals but I don’t really use them much besides with the twin reverb. I’ll get back to guitars tomorrow.

This is my 2016 Les Paul 50’s tribute gold top. It’s hard for me to get a good photo of the finish but the gold top is one of my favorite finishes. Some day I’ll get a gold top standard but for now this Studio tribute will do.

The first photo is the more representative of how the finish looks but it’s still not a good photo of it.

My Ibanez S series in quilted maple Dragon Eye burst. Such a light and thin guitar. Sounds great, plays great, and just looks fucking amazing... Simply a wonderful guitar.

Again, as the gold top was, it’s hard to get a good picture of the finish. In bright light it pops but in low light it’s way more subtle and dark.

Here’s my BC Rich Mockingbird ST. Quilted Maple top in trans-black finish. Not a bunch of photos of it because it’s stuffed in my closet in its case at the moment. It’s a great sounding and playing guitar but o hate dealing with a trem so I haven’t had it out in a while.

I've owned several guitars over the years (two electric, one acoustic and a borrowed acoustic) but never actually learned to play.

This summer, I got the urge again and spent a couple of months lusting over nice electrics ($$$) and then came to my senses and bought a used acoustic ($).

I may or may not actually learn how to play, but it feels good to have a guitar again to play around with.

I put pictures of this up in another thread but figured I’d do it here too. Just an Epiphone G1275. It plays ok but I plan on putting new pickups in it and replacing the pots, switches, and cable jack and wiring it up like a Gibson one of these days.

That anaconda burst is badass! So are the others. Also, I’ve been thinking of getting a JCM800 studio. How do you like it? Can you attenuate it down much? One of the reasons I like my JVM is that I can attenuate it down and not lose much tone since I’m just a hobbyist and just play in my den.

Here are my other two LP's and my SG. I really lucked out on the anaconda burst top. I saw pics of some of the others out there and the tops are really mismatched and even the burst spray pattern looked uneven. I'm really liking the JCM so far. I haven't played with it a ton but it is a fun amp. The 5W setting actually keeps the tone pretty well while not being crazy loud. If you have the chance to check one out give it a shot.

Nice looking Yamaha.
I just got my 1st Yamaha last month. One of thier parlors. Its a very loud guitar. In fact to loud if i get agressive picking/strumming. But sounds great for its size. I'll prolly try to play some of thier other offerings next time im window shopping.

It was well worth the $279 I paid for it and more. I was playing it through my Marshall JVM all morning and it sounds pretty great. I still have to adjust the action some but it’s really nice.

BTW, I love that Schecter. I’ve wanted to get one for years. I may have to get one now.

Thanks. They are both "artist inspired" builds. Both started as just the loaded pickguard. I was going to put the top pickguard in the Sienna burst Strat I posted earlier in the thread and the SRV I had floating around after I sold the MIM Strat I bought with it. The top one is based on the Gilmour Black Strat and the bottom is SRV number one based. I wasnt planning on building both at the same time but parts kind of fell into place.

Thanks. I’ve had a MIM Strat before but with a maple fret board and SSS pickups but I just couldn’t really connect with it for some reason so I used it in trade on my marshal half stack. I do have a MIM tele that I absolutely love.

So far this one just feels and plays really good. Seems like my last one was just off for some reason to me. I couldn’t play it very well at all. You just had to fight it for good tone but not this one. And yes, I really like the pickups on it. The humbucker is a Seymour Duncan. Not sure which one yet but it’s nice and clean.

Seen this hanging in the local shop yesterday so of course I had to liberate it. It’s a 1982 Ovation custom legend 1619. I was able to snag it for considerably less than the ~$1k that I usually see them at. I put it on layaway immediately.

It is thanks. I just picked it up off Reverb this last week. I love the rosewood fretboards on strats. I do think my next one will either be a sienna burst or a sunset metallic though.

I really like this one so far. At first I wasn’t at all impressed with it acoustically but then I plugged it in and it sounds great. I did a better setup on it than what it came to me with and now it sounds better unplugged.

Grabbed an entirely new rig in the last two days... $638 total with some very careful Craigslist shopping and one new PA speaker.. joined the Ibanez club for the first time.  I knew the pickups in the ARX100 were the weak point since they are the same as in my daughter's AS53.  Picking up a used Gibson Burstbucker Pro locally for $50 tomorrow.  The guitar was truly mint condition, not a scratch or worn fret. Was not particularly expensive new to begin with but is very well made, with mahogany body/neck.

Yep, this is the same guitar. I've been watching it sit on Clist for better part of the year and finally jumped on it for $175. I think it's a 2006 ARX100. These pickups are great clean and a little overdriven but not anything really heavy.

Needed some more bite and bottom end so I installed some Artec pickups (same as guitar madness, GFS, guitarheads, etc..) and mixed up the colors to better match the cream pickup rings and binding.  I think it came out great others may disagree...

ETA: learned a little more about these... They were supposed to pay homage to the original Artist series (70/80's MIJ) but these were made only one year, 2006, and they were made in China and were MSRP somewhere around $400.  They continued the ARX line but they didn't share the cloud tailpiece that was similar to the one on original Artist series. Looks like only differences between 100/300 were the finishes with the 300 having a quilt maple top. The paint is near flawless on mine, only indication of it being MIC is some paint bleed around the binding but only if you look very closely. A little concerned there was some issue with the tailpieces that caused this to be a single year production as some of the later Artist series cloud tailpieces apparently warped.

Haven't posted in awhile...

Nabbed a couple more Hercules triple stands on Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend from Sweetwater. So now I have all but 6 of my guitars out where I can just grab one instead of digging out cases.

Also have 4 Les Pauls, 2 Taylors, More Marshall cabinets, and recently switched to a Helix and HX Stomp System.  Still have all my Marshalls though.

Buddy of mine recently sold same model of the one on the floor. Signed by Michael Schenker all other members of MSG. He picked it up at the old KLOL rock n roll auction in Houston back in the 90's for maybe $1,800(?).  Nice!
