Man that is cool. Wouldn't you just love to hang out with Keef and play some of his gear? I would. I am a tweed man, too!
The 5F8-A tweed Twin was the circuit Jim Marshall based the plexi on. Nearly exactly the same circuit as the tweed Bassman, with double the power into 2 - 12"s at 4 Ohms. I have a clone of one I made 20 years ago; the amp chassis I had made by a friend at Polo Metals (nowadays you can order one chromed and silkscreened ready to build), and I hand-wired it with NOS and milsurp parts using a real "59 at Atlanta Vintage Guitars in GA as a template (when my friend Frank Moates was running the store - RIP). I used Kendrick iron, and turret boards instead of eyelets. It has grind and girth for days. Right now it is in a crude head box gathering dust, but I've decided to find a good tweed repro cabinet to finish it in. I'll fix it up and gift it to some promising kid one day. I've been selling off most of my amps, but am keeping the tweeds.
Too loud for most blues gigs I used to play back in the day; small clubs, bars, and restaurants. I mostly used a blackface Deluxe Reverb or a Pro Reverb. These days I mostly play a tweed Deluxe or my 3-10" tweed Bandmaster clone, a "Tyger" from Mike Clark in SC. Awesome blues tone, and even my harp-blowing buddies like it. Just need a good guitar and a cord.
