A few my from one my company is re-storing...... http://www.quijanoranch.com/resources/tom1.jpg http://www.quijanoranch.com/resources/Tom2.jpg http://www.quijanoranch.com/resources/Tom3.jpg Your F-14 has a serious case of limp-strut. Unfortunately a few of them are like that. The one at Udvar Hazy is among them. I was really impressed by a few of the more recent additions to the Naval Aviation museum in Pensacola... The F-14 they have inside looks like it was flown off the carrier, to NAS Pensacola and taxied directly into the museum hangar. (It probably was. ) |

^ did you fiddle with the colors on that one QUIB? Looks good. Thanks. I played with it a little in post-processing to enhance the fact that the aircraft skin was only alodined, which gave the whole plane a green hue. ETA: The same aircraft, on the ramp at RMMA during the Sunday show last year. The green hue is even evident in bright sunlight. |

You can see the softball sized hole in the left intake fan.Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: A few my from one my company is re-storing...... http://www.quijanoranch.com/resources/tom1.jpg http://www.quijanoranch.com/resources/Tom2.jpg http://www.quijanoranch.com/resources/Tom3.jpg Your F-14 has a serious case of limp-strut. Holy cow, these are wonderful pics. Quib, your pics are pure artistry. Thank you.
I lived a few miles from Chino Airport from 1971 to 1981 as a kid. Went there all the time. |

CB_HK...nice capture of that F-15.
I've yet to be lucky enough to catch vapor formations like that. Maybe we just don't have the right conditions here. |

I think it definitely has a lot to do with the humidity here in Florida. Back in SoCal you could sometimes see vapor start to form but it never came to life like it seems to here.

Out here at the Oceana air show (VA Beach), you get some great vapor coming off them when they turn and burn. |
