I've seen it at wal-mart and was wondering if it was good. It's the _______war movie with colin farrell.

I bought it since it was only five bucks. For five bucks it wasn't bad. I would have been a bit peeved if I had payed more than seven bucks for it, though.

It's not really a war movie, however. It lionizes this guy (Farrell) who purposely screws up constantly to try and get himself discharged during training for the Vietnam war. There's little action, except in training, and we never see Vietnam itself.

I'm willing to bet that most on this board who've seen it, hated it.

If you watch it, you will lose 10 IQ points.

Avoid Tigerland.

Rent it, but I wouldn't buy it.

i didn't think it was that great....

It is NOT a war movie, but a well done film IMO. It is basically about a reluctant soldier who is a natural leader and his experiences in boot camp.

I thought it sucked.

I think you can get Platoon for $5 now, get it instead. Much better movie.

Voice of dissent here. I think its a great film, and proves that Colin Farrel can act, very well in this case. Worth the five bucks, and if you don't like it, its walmart, you can return it.

It's decent. If you go into it knowing it's NOT a war film, you'll like it better.

I bought it because it was in the bargain bin, biggest piece of shit I have ever seen... Colin Ferrel is a douche for being a part of it

it wasn't really boot camp though was it, I thought they were in some intensive training before being shipped to vietnam?
But that said I enjoyed it enough, not a war movie but not everything is.

Most of the replies here only say "it sucked". No one can come up with some actual criticism. I think these people prefer mindless shooting to good story and plot. I for one thought it was a good movie. Like I said, good story and plot and you sympathize with the characters.

You got it. Some of the same people who think "A History of Violence" sucked, will think "The Replacement Killers" was a classic.

Okay. I thought it sucked because Colin Farrell was(is) a shitty actor. I didn't find the story or characters engaging at all. It's not a war movie, it's a coming of age story with guns. A lame one at that.
