A coworker has recently asked for help in coming up with a list of movies that feature Butterfly knives. While racking our brains for said movies, we quickly noted that all the movies we thought of with said blades in them also featured prostitution in one form or another. We thought was an interesting parrallel!

So here's the challenge: If you are interested, please list movies (and the scenes if you wish) that feature Butterfly knives.

For extra points, try and find movies that feature the knives, but do not contain prostitution.

The game is afoot!

Goonies- Joe Pantoliano's character opens a butterfly with both hands while chasing the kids through some underground caverns

I believe in the movie “Falling Down” there was a scene where some gang members tried to mug Michael Douglas. One of them had a butterfly knife and was flipping it around. There was no prostitution in this movie either. But there were plenty of guns.

It's funny how things stick in your memory and your mind associates things.  Every time I see one or hear the words "butterfly knife".  I think of that part in The Goonies when he opens that knife.

Sharkys Machine (Burt gets finger severed by Dan Insanto).
Streets Of Fire (Michael Pare bitch-slaps a gang banger who pulls one on him, then takes it from him- later he uses it to cut the ropes holding Diane Lane to the bed at Torchys).

Great movie also.  Loved the gun porn takedown shotgun & lever action rifle.  And the good guy citizen militia that backed up the cops when the Bombers all showed up.

Other butterfly knife movies:
Big Trouble In Little China (Asian gang member threatens Jack Burton <Kurt Russell> when they kidnap Wang's girlfriend at the airport).

The Outsiders <IIRC, could have been a gravity knife or switchblade but I'm fairly sure it's a butterfly knife> Two-bit (Emilio Estevez) uses one to ward off the soc goons walking home from the drive-in.  Not sure if it qualifies for the bonus points?  No obvious prostitution IIRC but Dally (Matt Dillon) was staying at a roadhouse or some such...

2 seconds of it in "10 Things I hate About You" when a guy whips it out(the knife) and stabs a frog in a classroom. There were hos in that movie I am sure, it was about highschool.

You're correct. Two-bit breaks a bottle, hands it to Ponyboy, opens the balisong & says '...pitty the back seat'

Other movies:
Face off   Travolta OOPS DUPE
Karate Kid 2 bad guy @ end
10 to Midnight Jan Michael Vincent as the killer
Vampire's bad guy
Mummy 1 & 2
Cradle of Life Angalina Jolie
Lethal Weapon 4 bad guy holding over Russo's preg. belly
Nice Dreams  used to open bottle of wine.

I have all these movies... I'm kinda of a movie-holich.

By the by... Outsiders was 1st time I saw one on tv. Uncle gave me one he brought back from the Phillipines & I just thought it was cool that one was on tv.

I THINK the knife Bishop (Lance Henriksen) uses in Aliens when they hold Hudson's (Bill Paxton) hand over top of Bishop's & he play 'knife chicken'.

Please correct me if I'm wrong... I just don't feel like getting up to check.

EDIT: I stand corrected... it's a Gerber Mark II... I had to get up and look

Near Dark.

It was a kind of lame vampire movie.  The little fat kid vampire had one in one scene.

I wasn't sure which mark it was and I was too lazy to look it up so I purposely didn't put that part in. They are worth some decent coin now a days if I remember correctly. I think you can still find them NIB some places though.
