I have an entire week off, 24th thru 31st.  I thought about taking a whole day to catch up on some rentals.

The only movies I saw this years were Batman begins, the Island, and Walk the Line.

I so rarely get time to lounge and watch movies I want to make it count.  Are there any movies from the last 6 months/1 year worth renting?  I was thinking of renting a zombie movie training film in there somewhere...

What say you?  If you could only see five or six movies from 2005, what would they be?

I just watched Cinderella Man. Thought it was a great flick. Other than that I think most of the stuff that hit the shelves recently is pretty lame.

Rent the Firefly DVD's, watch them all.  Then see Serenity.

I have caught one episode of that on TV.  Actually, I caught it twice, it was just the same FXXKING episode!  Dosn't that just piss you off?

Anyway...

I think the TV crossover into DVD and rentals is fascinating.  I'm anxious for Green Acres, season 4 to come out.

None of them.
All bad.
Nothing good has come out recently.

Well....maybe serenity.

The Island was much better than I expected.

I'm pretty sure of these:

Mr & Mrs Smith
Sin City

I was considering...

1000 Corpses & Devil's rejects
High Tension
History of Violence
Texas Chainsaw  (cheesy slasher movie, or worth seeing???)

Any thumbs up or down?

Jeez, I've been out of the loop so long, I don't even keep up with what's out there anymore.  (Or maybe there's nothing worth seeing anymore!)

I thought 1000 corpses was weak, although the Capt. Bill? (gas and chicken store owner) character was great.
High Tension - French horror - lame ending
History of Violence comes out on DVD in Feburary -I missed it at the theater- maybe you can catch it at the dollar movies
Texas Chainsaw - definitely a cheesy slasher movie (aren't they all?) but not too bad.  Jesssica Biel gives it a little something extra

sin city, house of 1000 corpses and devil's rejects were good, imo....mr and mrs. smith was ok, too
the texas chainsaw massacre remake was pretty lame i thought, but if you haven't seen the original yet you should.
eta- i didn't see high tension or history of violence

The Great Raid is out on DVD.  Mr & Mrs Smith looks good.  Serenity was good.

I couldn't seem to get into Mr & Mrs. Smith.

Have Serenity on right now. Never saw any of the Firefly series though. Too bad. I'd have loved it.

Four Brothers isn't too bad. Has some nice G36 action too. So does Stealth, but not as much.

The Interpretor was better than I expected. Don't like Sean Penn at all but he was decent in this movie.

The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is bad on purpose -- hilariously so.

I second that. Firefly will keep you going for a good while. Especially since you may wind up watching it twice, which is very likely.

"Unleashed" if you're good with kung fu flicks.

FOUR BROTHERS. It is the one of the best movies I saw this year. Great story and excellent gunplay.

The Devils Rejects was the best movie I have seen in a long time.

Did I screw it up by watching Serenity first?

I cant beleive I missed this TV show, the movie was good, I loved the story and hoped there would be more.

Is the TV series still on?

No

Is the TV series still on?

No, the TV series is dead most likely forever but I did come across this little piece of news a while back.

Over my vacation I watched

Land of the Dead (crap)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (worth watching for the gun porn)
Sin City (thumbs up.  I want a probation officer, now!)
The Legend of Ron Burgandy (entertaining enough, but not great)
The Recriut (Best of the lot.  I would give it an overall thumbs up)

Overall, very disappointing.  2005 is a year that went down in flames movie-wise.  I was tired of giving lib-tards money, anyway.

I pledge to see fewer movies this year!

you still need to see the devil's rejects

I just watched Four Brothers and The Island. Both were decent. I liked the premise behind TI - if Bay makes about 20 more of this quality or better I might be willing to forget about Pearl Habor. Nah, fat chance!

American Pie: Band Camp is funny as hell. The whole series is great if you enjoy adult humor.

Just finished this set today. Great show and great movie.

Just saw Road To perdition.  Good movie.  Watch out though, it actually has a plot.
