I have a 86 volvo 240 DL. Still runs great except if it has been raining out the engine wont turn over when I try to start it. I can get it running if I pump the gas while turning the key. Starts fine in normal conditions. Any ideas?

you need to isolate if it is a fuel or spark problem.
The first place I'd look is for condensation under the distributor cap.

Check /replace the following parts;
Distributor cap
Rotor
Sparkplug wires
and while you are at it, the sparkplugs.
Have fun and good luck!

Good suggestion, you are most likely losing spark through arcing between the terminals on the cap, in inside the cap, or from the coil wire on the coil side. Sometimes you can see it if it's dark out.

Or you may be able to cause it to happen by spraying some water on any of these areas while it is running.
