I saw this odd looking thing and wondered what it was:

Very cool.  A new model Porsche!

Then I saw something underneath a car cover.  Mind you, this is a Porsche/Audi/Mercedes dealership.  What the hell could they have under a car cover?  Why wasn't it displayed?  I talked with my salesperson I bought my last car from, and he uncovered the car.

I just about shit myself:

Mother of God!!!!

That sure is a pretty butt:

Another angle from the front:

Carbon Fiber brakes:

The heart of the beast.  A nice compact V10:

Sorry about the picture quality, but I wasn't expecting to run into one of the rarest new vehicles in the world.  A camera phone just was all I had.

They should put the turbo engine in the Cayman. With its lighter, better balanced chassis it would kick ass. Never happen though.

The Cayman runs about 295 Horses in the S trim.  It looked pretty light.  It'll scoot pretty good, I have a feeling.

The funny thing is that if I wanted to buy that Cayman, I would have to wait two months to take delivery.  They don't start shipping officially till February.  My dealership got a "pre-release" version.

Ah..why is it "plugged in"?

Battery charger on the battery.  The customer was coming in to take delivery tomorrow, I think.  It's amazing what $300,000 looks like sitting in one spot.

When my 928 was stolen I replaced it with a 5.0L Mustang GT.

I no longer worry about parking lots etc. - its just transportation (Very fast transportation that the cops seem to ignore)

I remember reading in autweek about the hard time Porsche had with these when they lent them to

magazine writers. One fo them (might have been French, not sure) downshifted but went a few too

many gears
. Engine went way past redline and voila - exploding V-10. Then another writer crashed

one into a tree. A sad day for auto enthusiasts...

Edited because I'm a terrible typist.

Both are fine cars, I'll take the GT over the cayman though....
