For me it’s velour. It’s comfortable wears good can look luxurious and does not have that ass burning tendency of leather that everyone considers “luxury” today.
GMT400 GM truck’s had the best IMO |

An engine you can work on with out plugging a computer into it!

Lightness.
I own two sports cars that weigh less than 2,000lb. One is 43 yrs old and the other is 89 yrs old. There is a modern sports car I'm looking at and the pig weighs 3,700lb. Modern cars are obese (with few exceptions e.g., mx5, Elise...) |

Not having thousands of dollars of electronic gizmos included in the price of a vehicle I don't give a fuck about. I dont want a digital inclinometer on my F250, cameras, and back up sensors. More shit to break that drains my wallet and more shit I don't need to cause distractions and other bullshit. If you are too stupid to back up a truck and you need a sensor and a camera, you sure as fuck don't need a truck.

REAL keyless entry, i.e. keypad. If I have to have my keys with me, it's not keyless.

Steel bodies, V-8, carburetors, manual transmissions, bench seats, no emissions controls(vent to atmosphere), electronic(hei) distributors, whores and coke.

I always feel like I was born in the wrong decade. I look back at some of the cars y’all grew up with and just day dream.
I love everything about the old classic cars. Can’t stand all the electronic crap in newer vehicles. Even early 2000s vehicles have too much electronic shit. I guess if I had to pick one thing, it would be a return to squared off styling. I grew up around 80s GM trucks. My granddad still has an 88 Silverado 2500 and it feels like it’s half the size of a new 1500 just due to how the body is shaped. Funny thing is, that new 1500 weighs the same if not more than the old 2500. |

View Quote Personally, I'm happy with my newer vehicles - more dependable, safer, more durable than past vehicles. The newer safety features are appreciated for my three teenage drivers. I would like to see more manual transmissions out there, but I recognize many of the innovations are driven by achieving CAFE numbers - again, thank the gubmint. Computers, DEF, cameras, airbags, aerodynamics, even manual transmissions - all driven by the push for better fuel economy and compliance with regulations. I think all the regulations stifle true innovation in the industry. Kind of like phones back in the 20th century. It took 40 years and the only innovation was touch-tone dialing. Heck, there's a regulation for the minimum sound level of the turn signal "click." I believe it's like 53 db. |

Bench seats.
Manual windows. Floorboards you can rinse out with a water hose. |

I miss the simplicity and affordability of a lightweight two door car with a solid rear axle.

Small Japanese 4x4 4cyl trucks. And no, the Tacoma has not been small since 2004.

manual transmissions as standard equipment, make pos autos an option
rotary engines #justbuilditmazda |

Manuals and half ton SFAs. Not really needed, but i miss those things.

Cars that don't look like they came from an anime cartoon, and pickups that don't look like Tonka toy rejects.

RWD (I know it still exists, would like to see it more common).
Fullsize, body on frame, 2-door SUVs, i.e. Chevy Blazer/GMC Jimmy, Ford Bronco, Dodge Ramcharger. Not goofy-looking retro inspired designs, either. |

1. less weight, a camaro, mustang, etc that weighs over 3500lbs ceases to be a true pony/muscle car.
2. less "iEverything". I don't want to be forced to buy all of these bullshit options on a performance car. 3. trucks need to be trucks again and not the cowboy cadillac |

Tall, skinny, mud tires.
I would do bad things for a set of 305/80 Buckshot Mudders. |

Metal ashtrays and cigarette lighters. My 90 Olds was a smoker's delight. Ashtray and lighter in every door.

electronic emission controls and computerized everything.... Simple drive/powertrains..

I would love to, but they haven't been produced for at least a decade, and went away before 17" rims became the norm.
