Wheels look great. Kind of and A12 vibe.

He has other E bodies and a few more B bodies. He also has a 1970 C body 4 door with a factory HP 440. It was built the same day as a 1970 Plymouth Cuda V code 440 six barrel that he has. He's going to put the engine in the Cuda.

My good friend and his Dad have been Mopar fanatics forever and have had a great influence on me. His Dad has always bought Chrysler products. This 68 Charger is his and I can remember driving in it in high school. He bought it in 1969, Tor red paint, 383 h.p. 4 speed, red interior. His son fixed the rear quarters and painted the patches so his Dad can drive it and get some enjoyment having it on the road again as he  was always going to "fix it up some day."

Short walk a round video after driving it around today.  I had just flushed the cooling system to rid the motor of left over debris and rust eminating from the block coolant passages.  She runs cool enough for a mid day Yuma summer so she will be downright chilly come winter.

The insanity of Mopar and classic muscle prices is what ultimately drove me to the Euro and JDMs. I don't think there's a reasonable way my '68 Charger dream will ever happen. Thanks Barrett-Jackson.

I'll get some with the skinny tires, I haven't really had a chance to get a "camera man" and a spot so I don't get arrested lol. Plus it is still hot out here.

Besides some small stuff, it is done. Hood will be replaced with a 6 Pack hood, front and rear bumpers replaced as well. I know a guy foing a full restore who is hooking me up with red seats and door panels so the carpet snd interior parts are going red as well.

I had been driving it to and from work without much of an issue. There is a weird stumble at wot that only occurs in the heat of the day, not at night so I am going through the ignition and insulating fuel lines. At night it pulls hard, no stumble. And my diy alignment is pretty close so it trscks good up past 90mph.

I'll try and keep this thread updated.

Yep, prices for muscle cars are stupid. The Charger more so . This GTX is nothing more than a good driver but I think I bought it for a good price at $5k. No way I could or would  drop the coin for a restored one.

I went to the Mopar Nats last weekend and prices are still sky high.

That would be awesome... THANKS! About that WOT stumble...back in the day when I was the tuner on these everyday rides it was common practice to make sure the vacuum advance was hooked up to a venturi vacuum...in other words live vacuum when the go pedal is punched down...hooked to manifold vacuum you will get a pause in vacuum when you need it (advance) the most...seems quite simple and it is but it does work. And you probably already know that given the level of restoration you are working on...

Thanks. It is hooked to manifold vacuum. The stumble happens a few seconds after I hammer it, no delay off idle. Seems either like the fuel stops flowing or the ignition misfires. And it only happens in triple digit weather so it is temperature related. My thought is fuel boiling in the carb. Next step is to verify fuel pressure when it happens. If it were ignition related the raw fuel igniting when it kick back on would cause some popping, which it isn't doing. I may install and electric pump vack at the tank as well.

Put a short insulator under the carb and space it up a hair off the intake . If it is boiling fuel that will help. Also get heat out from under the hood

I forgot about this thread!

It has a 1/2 phenolitic spacer. But.....the problem was the Eddy mechanical pump.  I hooked a pressure gauge in line and when I would punch it the fuel pressure would drop to zero. So the stumble was the carb choking out.  The fix was to return the mechanical pump and I bought an electric Holley Black pump. 150gph. The thing is loud but I have regulated 6psi all the way to redline. No problems. Pump was hooked through a relay.

As it stands, the interior is black. I have a friend doing a nut bolt oem resto and he has a red interior for me. So after his upholstery shop swaps out the seat covers he is going to ship me the red seat covers and door panels for a modest price. So it will be a smattering of red and black until I can convert the small parts over to red.

Thanks for the replies!  Not much going on except driving it and having fun.  I did swap the speedo pinion out so the speedometer reads correctly. Here is the 35 tooth and 30 tooth. I ended up on a 27 tooth which is pretty close.

And I dropped my tank to adjust the float. It now reads full when full. It is not correctly graduated as it has 10 gallons at 1/4 tank but empty is right below the E line.

And I found a used radio that needed a few tweaks to tune but it is working now. And I wired these two speakers in series to get 8 ohms. Sounds decent for Walmart speakers.

OP, your car looks and SOUNDS awesome!  Well done.

Can I play too?

Just bought early September 2017.

Had a '72 Cuda 340 4spd that in a moment of foolishness sold in 2012...althought I did double my money literally in 10 years.

Been pining for another Mopar car ever since.  Found this one close by and bought.

Originally a dark green.  Previous owner says he bought at Mopar Nats 2015 and drove back to Michigan.  Looks completely clean underneath.  Ran good, but replaced clutch and carb and now runs like a new car.  Not a powerhouse by any measure.  But its smooth and fun.

Alternator & Gasoline seem shifted too far to the right.
Space between D-C & E-F seems too wide, like it was from a car with a similar, but not the same, cluster.

Could be the camera angle I guess.
