Just seen this. I think we were there on sunday that week.

We went down again last weekend. Raced at EastBend on Sayturday. Boy went down hard in the 50 open off the start, after getting 2nd in the 50 jr class moto 1. Bruised up his shoulder but no break's I tol him he wasn't allowed to race the last two races even after he decided to finish the moto he wrecked in. We went to 421 on Sunday but it was to wet to send the boys out in so we just came home.

First big races in Ohio are April 7-8 so he is taking it easy, but I have caught him on the pogo stick and bicycles a few times. I let him ride the pitter in the yard for a few also, but took him back off after 5 mins.

***Edit for some pictures since it is the start of a new page.

Just happy to ride his dirt bikes.

Thinned the stable out Sunday. Sold my ktm but got to take the husky out for a 35 mike loop.  Guy who bought the bike is an arfcommer and was happy to see a BFL on the bike.

Fan I installed worked great keeping things cool.

Boy had his qualifier at East Fork Mx. He went 1-1 in the 50 jr class. Pulled 3 hole shots (they had to do a restart on the first race) The ruts where monsters, but the boy loved it.
The next day we hit one of the big local races up at Briarcliff. He went 2-2 in the 50 jr. and i htink 13th overall in the 50 open against the big bikes. He pulled both hole shots in the 50 jr class. That Risk racing starting gate that papaw got him for Christmas is helping a lot.
One of his local sponsors, Simple Beginnings Photography, also did a photo session with him that turned out great.
He got to meet Seth Hammaker, whom parked across the street from us at the qualifier, he is his biggest fan now. Seth is a super nice kid that is fast on a dirt bike. Seth traded him his Monster Energy Kawi hat for one of my boys cartoon stickers I had made up for him.

Getting this Suzuki DR350 ready for riding this year. My older neighbour gave it to me when he saw my friend riding his new Honda dirt bike around, he came up to me and said he had this Suzuki he couldn't ride anymore due to bad knees. I was super happy when he said it was titled as a street vehicle .

I'm currently waiting on a street legal lighting kit, some tires and brake fluid to get it road worthy/legal. I expect to ride this quite a bit this year.

Warp 9s just came in.

Now I gotta find the time to install them, and also muster the balls to do it myself. Never removed/installed wheels before (first bike and all). I downloaded the "service manual" for the proper torque specs, but it's still lacking in info for a rookie like me, IMO. Watched some vids, but they don't go into enough detail. Pretty sure I can do it. Maybe.

Pretty simple really.   pull the front caliper if you got the 320mm rotor.   On the rear pull the lower chain guide,  kinda drop the wheel in from the top to get it passed the mount for that lower guide and then straighten everything out before sliding it the rest of the way in.

Grats on the sumo set,   most fun you'll ever have without a rock hard dick.

Yeah, I didn't want to mess with having to mount the tires, so luckily the company I ordered from do it as part of the package. Got a really good deal at Moto X Industries. $1,095 shipped (coupon code Facebook took almost $60 off the total) for the wheels and tires (Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3) with new sprocket and discs, fully ready to install on the bike.

Don't sweat it.

It always takes me 30 minutes to swap wheels and chain.  Don't know why exactly.  Must not do it often enough.

Waiting a custom seat, stabilizer, and IMS dry break. Just waiting for a weekend to bring it to SoCal to Precision Concepts for suspension tuning.

Feels like a different bike. The handling compared to the stock knobbies is night and day. I mean, I figured it was gonna be better obviously, but holy shit.

Question for you guys; The Warp 9s came with their own rotors. I had to open up the top of the front brake res to allow me to spread the calipers to fit the new rotor (it's stock size, but a tad thicker because it's brand new).

Both the front and back brakes feel sort of meh. Like they did when I first got the bike brand new. After time, they seemed to settle in and were biting good on the stock wheels. I assume the same will happen with the new rotors? Maube I should have just thrown new pads in since I was already in there. New rotors, new pads, makes sense. But the pads have less than 3K miles on them, so I didn't bother.

They will break in fairly quickly.   If you find the front doesn't meet your expectations for bite and feel pick up some HH compound pads.  They will bite quite a bit better ( they will wear the rotor quicker though,  always a trade off ).

Good to know. Thanks. I'll keep those in mind.

All that's really left to do is trim the fork guards. I just have zipties on them now so they don't rub the wheel.

Edit: Oh, and to install the SpeedoDRD. Should be here in a few days.

We had a rain storm come in after the Saturday racing. We gathered the kids up, ended up with about 20 of them, plus us 8 or so adults and went down the starting line to play some mud football. picture was about 15 mins into it. We had a crowd of about 75 people after the rain stopped lol. Thankfully the rain started up again as we had to stand under the camper awnings in our underwear to shower off lol.

We leave today for the biggest race of his life so far. The Mid East regional for Loretta's. He has the speed, as long as he doesn't let it get to his head. I've got the little swimming pool, bicycles, xbox and footballs loaded up to take the pressure off and try to remind him motocross is supposed to be fun. He was flying yesterday with his trainer for the 2 hrs they were together. Wish the little guy some luck!

Just finishing up my new bike. 2018 500 excf so its "street legal" New trail/adv/cruser got built into a new race bike. Funny how that happens.
Tuned ecu by Blais Racing, de-smogged 100%, Baja Designs headlight with sicass goodies, wire/electronic free other than the necessities to run, nito mousse, gearing, hi flow water and oil pump. Waiting a custom seat, stabilizer, and IMS dry break. Just waiting for a weekend to bring it to SoCal to Precision Concepts for suspension tuning.

Im in California, (Marin). Lets go ride!!
How much do you plan on riding it? Get some supermoto wheels!
Haha thats why it ended up as the new race bike. Rode it for a week after it was tuned, and I was positive I'd end up in jail if I kept riding it on the street. Way too much fun.

First bike in almost 20 years. I started shopping for an old thumper to ride trails with my daughter, thinking '90s XR250 or 400 with a budget of $1500.  I came across this preowned 2017 CRF250L Rally with 50 miles on the odometer, Yoshimura exhaust, and suspension upgrade. I couldn't resist.  It's no powerhouse on the road but it's a wonderful light bike on the trails.  ETA: Yes, I blew up my budget.

This is actually a better bike on the road than you’re giving credit.

Light and agile is good - really good - on the streets.

And... not to downplay its off road capabilities, but all those lights and stuff sticking out all over the place isn’t going to make it woods friendly.

I’m jealous of your purchase.

He did it!! 5th over all.
Moto 1 had a horrible start 30 out of 35. Worked up to 6th.
Moto 2 ripped a 5 bike length holeshot then rode the brakes to a 12th... Threw a fist pump over the finish line...
Moto 3 5th place start, bobbled in turn 2. Back to 8th passed back to 6th, missed a line and got passed, finished 7th.

I really like the looks of the CRF250L Rally- I just wish they weren't so heavy (relatively speaking).

I was able to ride a standard 250L around some trails near Grand Lake this past weekend and had a blast! Noticeably heavier than my CRF250X, but built for a different purpose.
