Headlight testing. Bulbs are sylvania silver stars I think (marked performance instead of halogen). I installed a relay harness and removed my rusty headlight switch and foot dimmer. Got some pin diagram help and made some jumpers. Let there be light!

Took the pups out to Hidden Falls earlier today. My oldest, Baxter definitely wasn't a fan and puked towards the end. Elsa didn't seem too interested. Didn't do anything too crazy since I didn't know how they would fare. Will definitely go back.

Thanks! I’m just working on getting all the basic wiring circuits working right now. Then it will be back to bushings, shocks, steering... at some point I need to start tackling the body and put a windshield back on it. I’m trying to pick up a bumper today if the guy ever texts me back

Edit, gonna have to do some mods to get it to fit but it was $20

$20 TJ bumper, $5 of hardware and some old polyurethane bushings sliced up. It’s solid. I’m debating chopping 6 inches off each end

Fit and function are great but it makes the Jeep pretty impractical. I will be looking to trade it for a hard top soon

GR8TOPS are nice.  I love mine but it is only my wife and I that wheel.
Plenty of storage in the back under the bed cover and cooler and bins on the rack.

I have less room than you. I don’t have any good shots from the side on my phone. It does have a stroked LS that makes almost 600hp so that makes up for some of the inconvenience Attachment Attached File

Yeah, the LS makes up for a lot.  Maybe, someday.

The extra inches of the unlimited with extended version of the half top do
make for a good amount of extra room.

Few reasons why they probably didnt.  The steering box replacement is under a TSB not a recall so unless a customer complains about the issue per the TSB there's nothing to fix.  There is also a months long shortage of JL/JT steering boxes so again if the previous owner never complained about it and just wrote it off as a "Jeep thing" there would be nothing for the dealer to fix, and a dealer isn't going to deadline a vehicle for months that they can move tomorrow.

A few of my friends have had this issue now on JLs and one JT.  The guy with the JT somehow got the dealer to scrounge up a steering box in less than 2 weeks instead of the initial 2 months minimum they were originally telling him. Still didn't fix his problem but the truck had less than 1k miles on it before he was adding a 4 inch lift and larger tires/wheels.  The factory tires still had the nubs on them.  So no he's in the Mod Cascade again to upgrade to Long Arms to try to alleviate the issue.

I picked up this 2013 Commando Green JKU yesterday.   One owner, 85k miles perfect interior, unmodded.  Had to drive 3 hours to buy it.

Since I already had a YJ booster and master, I Replaced the master cylinder with a dodge 3/4 ton, bent new brake lines to the prop valve, replaced the rear bleeders and front calipers. Replaced the booster check valve, Bled it a bunch... still having brake issues. Probably need to adjust my push rod or vacuum bleed it. Well I needed the garage space for another project so I did the shuffle and moved the CJ outside. And then it started raining 🤦‍♂️

Beautiful LJ @Finslayer83
Patriot Blue? I don't know if they still do this, but if you email Jeep customer service with your VIN and request a build sheet, they will email it to you.
I did this when I bought a used XJ about 10 years ago, found out it was originally equipped with keyless entry (I only got 2 keys when I bought it, no fob).

1976 CJ5.  Sat 17 years after getting stuck in a creek.  Drained and filled everything,  big box of Rock auto parts and it runs good!  It does pop out of 3rd some times, but I was told it did that before.

Read the fucking manual!

Let me say again, READ THE FUCKING MANUAL!

We put this kit on my nephew's TJ, and it seems to be terrific, but it was a fucking bear to install, and there were several places where the manual appeared to be no help...until you look at things just right and suddenly, you see it. However, the staff is on call to help and there was one time when the nephew had to email them pics and just ask "WTF?" and they came through

I'm dropping it off at the boutique "overland" shop to get it on . Neighbor owns the place and giving me a good deal on labor, keep it local.

They are also going to do the SYE install.

New to me JL Unlimited.

Seller may even be a member here, he had some nice guns.

It's not offroad like some Wranglers here, and I was looking for one that way. Walmart parking lots and the occasional intentional curb are enough for me!

Yup!

Texas Vehicle Exchange did the work for the 1st owner. It's Dupont Kevlar paint.

The pics are from the for sale ad, I drove it home, washed it, changed the oil, and pretty much put it away for winter. It does have a bit of a glisten when it is clean.

I have a friend who bought a JK 3 weeks after I bought mine in "Tank Green" of the same paint, it is dull, like you would expect a military vehicle, I like mine better.

There is some rust on the DV8 bumpers that I don't like, but I do like the bumpers. I don't know what I am going to do with that, but I will drive it around this spring/summer and see if I really wanted this thing, or if I don't really use it.

I have never owned a 2nd vehicle, so we will see how it goes!
