Probably not.
The netflix server will see where the connection is coming from and block you out. I suggest giving them a call and ask directly. |

Thanks for the info guys...I hear that at the air terminals there is Wi Fi but didn't know if a person could access Netflix there or not as I'm not going to spend $70 fir internet access that doesn't seem to work very well.

dont waste your money... go get yourself a 2 or 3 TB and fill it with movies before you leave ...A tablet is worthless!!! at least where i was

I wasn't able to run streaming video anywhere in Afghanistan, even on their supposidly "high speed" service when it was available. Maybe things have changed since I was there in '09

We tried to get Netflix at Manas and if I remember correct a message prompt saying since wew weren't in CONUS it wasn't going to work. It didn't matter anyways because our Comm guys got us better movies on their TV channel.
Do what has been suggested, get a good portable hard drive, fill it up with movies and leave some room for more when you can trade movies. |

You'll find media servers out there on NIPR all across Afghanistan. While I was out there, we found one that had about 10 terabytes of data, like 4 TB of movies, 4TB of TV shows, and another 2TB of music. Much easier and more complete than Netflix.

I appreciate all the comments guys...I don't want to screw anyone else over the streaming as that is not as important as being able to access the internet & e-mail. Good idea about the 2-4 TB full of movies but unfortunately I don't have the time to load it up with movies now, but I think I may take some kind of TB hard drive over and fill with movies while I'm there.

everyone has movies over here so it wont be hard to get something to watch if you end up in Dwyer you can look thru mine

Not going to work. The haji indian wi-fi network is too slow. They even blocked x-box live, not just via an x-box but the website to login to.

Kandahar was too slow to get anything in the barracks. However, my coworker was able to get youtube and such on his work computer, when hardwired to the connection. For my nook, I just burned a bunch of DVDs onto a portable hard drive and used my computer to watch or move to the nook.
