I have two external HD's on USB.  Depending on which way the wind blows hey swap drive letters.  Anyway to permanently stabilize this?  Platform is Pentium and WIN98SE.

use one usb port for only drive 1 and use the second only for drive 2


I don't remember if you can manually assign drive letters in 98.  

usb is troublesome as it is.   if you install a device on a individual usb port always use that same usb port in the future
