This is for a Linux laptop. Looking at 16 Gb. of ram but not sure as far as an SSD. Did you folks consider the processor and chipset? Price?

SSD is a must. At least a good intel i5 or better.

If I was buying a dedicated Linux laptop, I'd get one of the new Dells with as much RAM and SSD space as you can afford.  They actually support the OS.

In one way, the i5 is better then the i7 in laptops. Power consumption.

I personally still run an i7.
